Land, a Change of Direction

After reading recent posts by @azircon, @thejedo and looking at @beaker007’s tools it’s become apparent that I am not in a position to be doing research, yes I was nicely break even in my resources and 100% self sufficient but the only way I could grow my land portfolio was outside capital.

Don’t get me wrong I’ll be picking up new land and workers that fit what I need when I can but using all my resources to fund a small research hut that would give me the chance to build an aura lab in a years time was not the most efficient way to grow.

I picked up a 12th plot today that will give me one region with all 4 base resources, that’s probably going to be the region I concentrate on going forward rather than extending my grain farm region as costs for plots in that region are double!

If I can pick up a cheap grain farm in my third region that will also have all 4 resources so I’ll be on the look out for that too.

Back to my initial thoughts, by closing down my research hut and converting to a quarry my net DEC earned increased by 400% meaning I will have much more DEC to compound into the region and grow the returns even further and hopefully get to a position where reopening the research hut is not as damaging as it currently is. Still a long way to go but it does mean I can start adding or improving a worker probably every day and keep moving in the right direction.

Of course research and aura will play a big part in the upcoming Yaba's Pickle sale providing access to the "Fortune Draws" and "Auction Marks" so i will have to forgoe creating my own for this time. I wonder if the sale will have an impact on the price of midnight potions as people use their aura in different ways? Or is there already too much in circulation?

On a different subject, Campaign mode has arrived and with it a new set of cards, maybe not game changing but certainly a great way to introduce cards and abilities.

The campaign is the first step in a great PVE experience and hopefully @nateaguila and his team get to go to town and add in the cut scenes at some point that were previewed in a previous town hall, monthly campaign chapters with unique prizes is certainly something I would be willing to pay for, glamour maybe…?

Unfortunately with anything new people look to exploit with 60,000 of each foundation card bought into circulation (not to mention the glint...) but the team acted quickly to plug the issue and hopefully that will solve any future issues.

And finally, 3/4 weeks into Conclave and I’m still picking up a pack or so a day in search of a Black Foil hoping that I may stand a chance when it comes to the legendary air drops - hopefully we get news on conflicts in the next town hall because I think if you are not lucky enough to pull a BF/BFA then airdrops will be out of reach - but things are not going well! The set is great fun to play with and I have switched off my wild bot and gone fully into Modern and modern tournaments so it may be time to utilize an old alt account for my Xbot token…
