FIRST NFT EDITION -HIVE WATCHER 001-

avatar

Good day everyone❤, how are you all doing? Hopefully we're doing great and if you're down and need someone to talk to, I'm always open. On my last post I shared with you guys my process getting whitelisted as an artist in the NFTSHOWROOM. So yesterday I listed my first edition of the Hive Watchers collection by God's grace and I'll be sharing the process in making and listing the art piece. This would be a very informative post so do well to follow through.

● GETTING THE IDEA

So I once shared a post on how I unknowingly violated a rule in the hive community and got sanctioned. One thing I noticed was how those guys were quick to respond to complaints, applaudably strict e.t.c so I planned to make a piece about them and share on the NFTSHOWROOM. That's why I named the piece Hive Watchers. Stay tuned.

● OUTLINE

So I got my rough sketch first and then finalized it using Adobe Illustrator. This is an important step in the creating of any art piece. The next and also very important step is filling in the colors.

● COLOUR

I planned from the start of the project that this particular edition was going to be in a silhouette [shadow] form. So there was no need to worry over picking colors. So after that I added the spear making the blade in form of the Hive Logo and added the unique eyeball. The next step is the application of the beckground.

● BACKGROUND FILLING

For this stage, I needed a moonlit dark background, so as allowed by freepik.com, I got a nice vector background obtaining the permission of the creator to make use of it for commercial purposes though ensuring proper attribution which I did when listing the piece Night sea vector created by upklyak - www.freepik.com. So I edited the background to my taste. Now to the final stage.

● EDITING AND CORRECTING

So at this stage I made a few corrections which included reducing the size of the eyeball (which I had done earlier), changing the shape and color of the spear in solidarity with Ukraine and adding some effects to the spearhead to give it a mystical appearance. I also created the shadow for the figure and adjusted the hand to hold onto the spear firmly.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why did I give the figure just an eyeball? - It was to portray the image through which many of us view the Hive Watchers when actually they're working for the sustainability of the hive community. We view them as predators or sort of, which was why I used the CYCLOPS imagery. A Cyclops is a greek mythical race of giants that have only a single eye in the middle of their forehead.

  2. What's the meaning of the Russian language written at the right bottom? - It says "I come in the name of Jesus the Messiah". It's a personal prophetic utterance for me which I like to utter at the launch of any new thing.

  3. Softwares used for production? - Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
