Terrorism at its best - Modern Warfare® 2

Well, today I want to get to the point, because I guess more than one must recognize the topic by the name of the cover "No Russian", this mission for me is very well represented both by the controversial, and certainly that cruder approach that COD MW2 could offer us back in 2009.
But, nevertheless, it is important to remember it and see a perspective that perhaps you failed to grasp, for simply passing the game in a hurry, or just don't remember anymore.

I think Infinity Ward really went all out in this game, addressing sensitive issues that in real life cause traumatic impacts and to deal with this you have to know how to somehow capture them in video games. However, we should be more afraid to see how reality can be the one that inspires fiction in some way. Even the developers themselves knew that it was going to be shocking for some players before we started the campaign, since they put that mythical ad that more than one will remember where they warn you that you will see sensitive scenes and if you want to skip just that specific mission you can do it. ![]() From all these moral debates is where the mission “No Russian” arises, putting us in the role of an infiltrated spectator, being traitors in the eyes of Makarov who I deduce that somehow knew that we were infiltrators, but decided to let us live while causing chaos. ![]() In that airport we will see the desperation of the defenseless people who try to run being mowed down by these terrorists who under the code “nothing Russian” make an attack in order to incriminate a nation to have a justifiable end to generate a war between the United States and Russia. ![]() ![]() As I said Makarov I think he already knew that we were infiltrated in their plans, however, let's live a little while to see and feel in the flesh the rawness of such an attack, and it is here where I emphasize that the developers knew how to create that situation, because unlike the entire game at this time the gameplay is seen at a slower pace even walking to see more calmly chaos and despair without being able to do something about it. ![]() Those who have already played the game know that we can simply resign ourselves to not wanting to shoot civilians; however, fate will be imminent and nothing will be able to change the course of Makarov's plans which in the end ends up leaving us lying dead in that place giving the perfect excuse in which the United States killed us giving the basis for an early invasion. ![]() And although the game is somewhat crude in portraying the war as simply events provoked by a show of power over other nations rather than for the common good, you are confronted with the reality where high rulers who have not even picked up a rifle to fight on the front give orders from the comfort and safety of military bases. ![]() Before moving on to the last words I also want to emphasize what I loved and what I didn't so much about the gameplay in this mission, first as a plus point, I liked first the slow pace to see details, I liked the freedom to make the decision to attack civilians or not anyway there is no penalty and at the end of the day I would have felt bad to do so, despite being a totally fictional scenario xd. ![]() Something remarkable was the good atmosphere of the airport, as well as the characters who played the role of security guards who, despite their small arsenal, tried to defend to the death. ![]() Speaking of defence here, the game forced me to somehow open fire against the riot guards, as they were obviously controlling the situation, however, I felt invincible with my grenade lance, although its power was countered by the guards' shields, an item that I had never seen in a cod video game of that time, because if I'm not mistaken I think it was the first one to do it. ![]() And as a negative I would say that instead of being more general, it is something more personal on my part and that is the fact that this mission is very short, but looking at it from another point of view it also fulfills what is wanted in plot. ![]() All this gives us a reflection of the villain that can become this Makarov, but in this title beyond a mission there is a character even more tyrannical and malevolent, which justifies all actions with false beliefs of patriotism and in reality it is all about simple revenge that will end up becoming egocentrism and power in which makes sense that mythical phrase that says: “History is written by the victors”. ![]() However, I think there's a lot of stuff to cut about this character, because the one I'm talking about is General Shepherd who deserves a full post to analyse his ideas and motives, and you know that I go to great lengths to analyse my favourite video games xD, so support me with a comment that encourages me a lot. See you soon soldiers, and thanks for giving me a little space to share ;) hahaha! Requirements to play: OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista. ![]() |
It's like the missions keep getting crazier as you play.
Yes haha with every mission it becomes more epic and memorable, no doubt, thank you, friend for commenting.
This one is an emotional ride man. Lot of chaos and terror in an Airport. Ouch!
Without a doubt, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was one of those games that definitely marked my life as a gamer. It's a game that is so, so good in every aspect: dialogue, plot, dynamics, and acting.
I think that from Cod to Modern Warfare 4, it was the golden age of Call of Duty. I hope to play the remake of this great classic soon.
I would also like to have the PC that requires that remake, because it is worth reviving that jewel. You're right about the golden age, it was in its 'heyday, although I was too young to play them, now I can enjoy the first three cod mw titles so maybe soon you'll see me with the third one around here.
