Two Reggae NFT Collections You Should Know About!
CryptoRasta

In the world of NFTS and Reggae culture, two collections stand out in my mind and they do so for different reasons. The first collection is called CryptoRastas and is the idea of Marcus MPC of Digital dubs sounds system based in Rio De Janeiro. The Collection has 10,420 unique 8bit design digitized rasta characters, many based on real Reggae artistes via partnerships. Of the 10,420, 10,200 are already minted and sold out and 200 will be up for auction in partnership/image of known reggae artistes.
Some avatars are even more special. These are the official collabs with Reggae legends! In the first lot we have the NFTs of Lee “Scratch” Perry, Cedric "Congos" Myton, Kabaka Pyramid, Augustus Pablo, Addis Pablo, Bushman, Dada Yute, Micah Shemaiah, Etana and Bay-C of T.O.K.
And more are coming soon like: Sister Nancy, Sly & Robbie, Jesse Royal, Sugar Minott, Jah9, Macka B, Ranking Joe, Winston McAnuff, Dennis Bovell, Million Stylez, Cali P, Stranger Cole, Aza Lineage, and many many more to complete a list of 200 collabs!
What I like about this collection is that it is really international and they already have a huge community as the founder is a part of a sound system and understands the culture. They also find ways to bring value to the holders in the form of event passes, exclusive NFT drops and music downloads. There is also the clothing line as well shoes and canvas prints, given at a discount to CryptoRastas NFT holders.
Cool Rulers
The next collection that caught my eye is called Cool Rulers and is actually created by a Japanese illustrator called Studio Murasaki. He was the album designer on many of the "Strictly the best" compilations that were/remain quite popular today. The value in this collection is you are actually purchasing from the illustrator himself and each illustration is unique and very well detailed. The collection expands every week and 10 more are added to the mix. So if you want something very unique in the Reggae NFT space, Cool Rulers is it. Another thing I like is that Murasaki gives an extra NFT in the form of a thank you image with 10 editions for the 10 batch holders.
There is something that stands out with Cool Rulers and all of Murasaki's work. Even though it doesn't have the grand marketing behind it, the art "speaks" for itself. I think Murasaki, though not Jamaican, captures the culture in his art very well and gives it that Japanese anime feel to it.
In terms of community, networking, philanthropy and perks, I think CryptoRasta is worth owning at least one if you are about the culture and that I shall be doing very soon. I went ahead and FOMO-ed into Cool Rulers already as the 10 character reveal style seems to have caught traction. I have also been a fan of Murasaki’s work for years and I have been waiting on him to launch a Reggae NFT collection, in fact I have said it to him in the past. I see this collection as being prestigious in terms of "Oh you own a Murasaki?”
For me personally, I am not in it to flip it but if at some point, the price goes ballistic, I will do what feels right at that time. Right now, I am just collecting Reggae NFTs that I love as I love the culture and I’m about that technology.
Bless Up!

Lovely to see. Lovely use case too.
I checked them out on open sea. The prices are quite affordable.
Everything just wants to take my money, the universe needs to do something about this. Fill my pockets perhaps 🤲lol
Yes! Very affordable. I’m looking to buy at least one cryptoRastas this week. But trust me, if I had it like that I’d be rolling INTO so many NFT projects. I guess I need to look out for those free drops 💧
