RE: Abuse Report: A Pakistani Fake Accounts & AI Art Farm
You are viewing a single comment's thread:
Regarding the tree you mentioned, do you have information about their relationships with each other? Some are from the same village, some are neighbors, and some are students of a specific teacher. I’ve seen the faces of a few or heard their voices.
You marked a few profiles in red, and I might be connected to them or behind their activities (for catching them).
Sometimes I overlook the activity of certain accounts because they create new alternate accounts as soon as I catch them. I wait until they start receiving curator support before taking action against them.
The similarity in their art is due to the same Hiver teaching them digital art. There’s more to this story than what’s in the memos.
Regarding the profiles, it’s common for Pakistani girls not to use their own photos. This isn’t always about stealing someone’s identity; they often use other images to avoid showing their faces, as many Pakistani Muslim girls do for cultural or religious reasons.
I’m waiting to hear from a specific Hiver before sharing more details about this case. I won’t share further information on-chain. Please contact me using an anonymous discord account and send a memo with 0.001 HIVE to verify it’s you. Once I’ve gathered more data, I’ll share additional information with you.
But when I dug a bit deeper into her supposed Facebook account, I saw posts dating back 13 years ago. This makes me think the profile picture or the identity she's using is fake, too. Her introduction post on Hive states she was only 19 years old in January 2024. Are you saying she's been posting on Facebook since she was 9 years old?!
To understand the context, you need to know Pakistani culture. I’m not referring to cheating or scamming. The account in question might belong to her mom or dad. In Pakistan, children under 18, especially girls, often don’t have access to their own Facebook or WhatsApp accounts. In many cases, a parent’s account is used, and the girl may have permission to use it. I’ll wait for Hadia’s reply on this matter.
A small talk with Pakistanis,
First of all, let them handle it. You don't have to become their parent.
Regarding the relationship, I already said in my post, it seems like more than 2 people. Please read it again, carefully. Whatever their relationship to someone else, stealing identities, and/or artworks from online sources without even mentioning references, using AI to draw your artwork are all things this community stands against.
If you knew they were using a fake profile, why didn't you tell them? Pretending to be someone else on the internet and stealing someone's identity is a crime. Last I checked, it is a crime in Pakistan too.
There are 19 such accounts with stolen identities that I have shared in my post with links. You are saying all of them are using their mom's and dad's accounts? Really? In most cases, those accounts are young girls, not their parents.
Interestingly, two of the accounts even used the picture from a single Instagram account, too, pretending to be two different people.
Please re-read the post and click on all the links provided.
Very funny. I don't report to anyone. I am not gonna bother creating a Discord account to talk to someone on Discord. We have an immutable blockchain that can be used for the very exact purpose.
I don't disclose how we identify abusers. They improve their strategies, so I avoid discussing ongoing investigations related to abusers on public platform.
Do you really think I'm someone who doesn't read carefully?
Some girls use Katrina Kaif's (a Bollywood celebrity) photos as their profile pictures. Does that mean they are Katrina Kaif? It's problematic when they claim to be her. I'm trying to explain a different point, and you might not be understanding my perspective.
Are they admiring a Pakistani public figure? Or is it a local model who appears in Google search results when they search for random Pakistani female models?
In Pakistan, many girls use "Fatima" as a surname, but this doesn't mean they are literally daughters of someone named Fatima or that they share the same characteristics, such as being "abusers." Instead, "Fatima" is often used as a symbolic or cultural surname, not a literal indication of parentage.
Another interesting cultural nuance is that Pakistanis, especially girls, often have multiple names. Family members may use different names for the same person based on personal preferences or disagreements. For example, if grandparents don't agree on a name, your grandmother might call you one name for your entire life, while your grandfather uses another. Your parents might also choose different names for you. This can lead to situations where someone's name seems inconsistent across contexts.
For instance, my own niece has two names: one chosen by her mother and another by her grandmother. In front of my niece, people use the name her grandmother prefers, but in front of her mother, they use the mother's chosen name.
Life in Pakistan isn't always straightforward when observed from afar. To truly understand, you need to grasp these ground-level cultural realities.
Same tingled stories for memos.
You can always send someone encrypted messages on the blockchain, if you didn't know.
It seems very hypocritical of you to defend a group like that. Are you denying that they didn't steal others' artwork?
About the Katrina Kaif thing, you can get away with doing a lot of stupid things on Web2 but not on places where your content is monetised. Stealing someone's identity and/or artwork is fine on web2 but not here.
And why are you just talking about one account? If you onboard someone and send money to the same account, occasionally have conversations with them on the chain, wouldn't you know if they are doing these bad activities? And you are equally responsible for it?
Just tell me one thing. Is this fine in your dictionary?

This is how you make a line art?
I also wonder why @themarkymark downvoted her post? Did she not tell you about this?
You are telling me that the next two artworks are created by the same artist? Look at the proportions, smoothed out lines and flow of the two. You will notice which one is AI and which one is hand-drawn. Should I tell you more?

Stop defending someone just because they happen to be from your country.
Also, stop pretending to know things that you might not know, like the last time.
You mentioned 19 accounts, then I narrowed the scope to one. This was related to the Facebook account discussion.
I haven’t onboarded any of them.
I’m only ensuring you understand the complex, nuanced areas as well.
Why would it be?
I will reference this post to new Pakistani users who use the identities of actors or models.
Is it wrong to help you understand ground realities? They may be abusers, but does that change what I said above?
All my points are about culture. This is to ensure we don’t unintentionally harm anyone in the crossfire. Punish those responsible for the chaos, but be careful not to hurt those who don’t deserve it.
Any private channel antiabuse person can confirm if I hinted about
(YOU KNOW HOW TO READ IT, THEY DON'T. JUST CHECK FROM.....)
You can start with @gwajnberg. So don't try to say I want to defend abusers.
I honestly don't give a single horse shit about culture. I never brought anything related to that. Stop making it a nationalistic thing. (And don't worry, I had help from someone who is from your culture 😉)
I had more accounts on my radar, but just because I didn't have solid evidence against them, I let them go. You don't need to teach me how to do my work.
They can use photos of themselves with hidden faces instead of stealing photos of others.
None of the accounts were blacklisted but the verification requests were sent to each.
It is very strange that all accounts have the same artistic skills.
