Splinterlands Battle Of The Week: Four out of Four
The Ruleset

- Rulesets - Odd Ones Out & Fog of War
- Mana Cap - 33
- Active Elements -
Here's my starting lineup
Summoner: Octavia Shadowmeld

- With the ruleset and element pick that I got I was sadly forced towards death element as I only had a decent odd mana cost team there
- And for second as every good team needs a good tank in it I had to play Octavia Shadowmeld to be able to summon gladius monster with his Conscript
- Conscript - One extra gladiator card may be used in battle
1st Position: Xulax Nightwind

- Xulax Nightwind was my main tanks for this battle
- Main reason I like Xulax Nightwind here a lot is his Bloodlust and Thorns abilities
- Void Armor - Magic attacks hit this Unit's armor before its Health
- Bloodlust - Every time this Unit defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats
- Thorns - Returns 2 physical damage to attacker when hit by a melee attack
2nd Position: Spineback Wolf

- As Fog of War was active I could not play any other melee backline attackers so I settled for Reach
- I was quite scared to play him for a second as I thought he might steal take downs from my Bloodlust monster but I still played him and was hoping he would not get any kills just help to damage enemy units
- Reach - Can use melee attacks from the second position
3rd Position: Life Sapper

- As the mana cap was decently low I needed to start playing lower mana cost monsters
- First of them was Life Sapper and I picked him because of his 2 magic damage and Life Leech ability
- I was hoping he would get at least a little tankier by the time he gets to the first position
- Life Leech - Increases health and max health by 50% of damage dealt (rounded up)
4th Position: Haunted Spider

- Next up in line is my first ranged monster
- Did not really care for his stats I just wanted his Poison ability
- Poison - 50% chance to apply Poisoned after a successful attack. Poisoned units lose 2 health at the beginning of each round
5th Position: Soul Strangler

- Soul Strangler was picked only because of his stats
- Even tho he is quite low hp that did not matter in this battle as Fog of War was active
6th Position: Scavo Hireling

- And for last but not least is Scavo Hireling and his Repair
- I actually understood later that I miss placed him and the right spot for him was the 3rd position actually but hopefully it would not cause a lot of problem
- Repair - Restores 2 armor (up to max) to the allied unit with the most damage to its armor
Starting board

- After seeing the starting board I did not really know what to expect from this battle
- I believed if I could take down his Drybone Barbarian fast enough this battle was totally winnable
- But my predictions could still be off by a mile so lets start the battle and have a look
Here's how the battle went
1st Round

- After first round my confidence was quite high
- I had managed to take down his Drybone Barbarian and get a stack to my Bloodlust all that without loosing anything big on my side
- But anything could still happen so lets keep watching
2nd Round

- After 2nd Round the board was starting to look quite good for me already
- I took down another enemy monster and got a Bloodlust stack for it
- When looking at the speeds my Xulax Nightwind was hopefully going to get another Bloodlust take down in the start of the 3rd round and that would confirm the outcome of this battle
- Lets hope for the best and keep watching
3rd Round

- Another round done and also another stack bagged
- If I manage to hit my last attack my Xulax Nightwind would end this battle with four Bloodlust stacks out of four possible
- Now I just needed to wait for the start of the next round and then face my victory
4th Round

- It took me 1 attack to kill my enemies last standing monster
- After his Djinn Renova had fallen I took the victory

Summary
- This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch
- The battle came down to couple of wonderful Bloodlust stacks and the Repair ability both of them saved my frontline many times this battle
