Splinterlands Battle Of The Week: Close Brawl
The Ruleset

- Rulesets - Aim True, Broken Arrows & Odd Ones Out
- Mana Cap - 13
- Active Elements -
Here's my starting lineup
Summoner: Tarsa

- With the ruleset and element pick that I got I had a lot of summoners to choose from but because of the rulesets the options narrowed down quite a bit
- My pick mostly came down to Broken Arrows and Odd Ones Out being active as they filtered out these elements and summoners were I had mostly ranged team or odd mana cost teams
- So in my case I went with fire element and Tarsa as I had a great odd mana cost melee team there
1st Position: Halfling Refugee

- Halfling Refugee was my main tank for this battle
- Main reason I like Halfling Refugee here a lot is his high stats for only 1 mana
- The reason why Halfling Refugee is so cheap is that his only ability is a selfharm kind but that did not bother my that much as I felt like he was going to fall fast anyway
- Weary - At the beginning of round 1, Weary units have a 10% chance to become Exhausted. This chance increases by 10% every round, up to a maximum of 80%. Exhausted units skip their turn and cannot Retaliate
2nd Position: Creeping Ooze

- Creeping Ooze was actually the last monster I picked for this team
- The two main reasons were that he cost only 1 mana and I only had a single mana left and for second reason was his Slow ability which I actually really like in low mana cap battles as this means I could possible attack first and maybe take down 1 or 2 enemy monsters without them even having a chance to attack my team
- Slow - -1 speed to all enemy units
3rd Position: Uraeus

- Uraeus was my first backline attacking monster for this team
- Possible one of my most played monster just because how many stats you get for only 3 mana and also because he is a neutral monster so you could play him in almost any battle
- Sneak - Targets the enemy unit in the last position
4th Position: Fina Voxom

- And for last but not least is a single gladius monster as this was a guild brawl battle
- Never really played her that much as I feel like the other fire gladius monster with Reach is just little better when you have the mana for it but in this battle mana cap was quite low and for that reason I decided to play Fina Voxom
- Opportunity - Targets the enemy unit with the least health
- Bloodlust - +1 to all stats after dealing a killing blow
Starting board

- After seeing the starting board I was quite scared as his summoner was definitely better than mine
- But on the + side half of his team was only level 1
- If I managed to get couple of fast take downs with my Bloodlust monster the match was still winnable
- All of the outcomes were still open so lets start the battle and have a look
Here's how the battle went
1st & 2nd Round

- After two rounds the board was finally starting to open up
- I had lost my tank but that was kinda okei as otherwise he could have started to mess with my own team
- On the plus side I managed to take down two enemy monsters one of them being a Bloodlust takedown
- The scary this was that in the start of the next round if my Bloodlust monster should miss this tank he could die to my enemies Sneak monster and the battle could be doomed
- The next round could decided the whole battle so lets keep watching
3rd Round

- 3rd Round was huge for me
- Even tho I lost my Creeping Ooze I still had my Bloodlust monster alive and even got another take down on him
- Even tho that round went great the battle was far from over as my enemy had hp tank in front now
- Lets hope for the best and keep watching
4th & 5th Round

- Two rounds later the battle was now 1v1
- Both of our monster needed to land two attacks to get a take down
- The good news was that I had more speed which meant I will attack first and also have getter % to dodge an attack from my enemy
- Now I just needed to pray that I would hit two attacks in a row or incase I should miss my enemy had to miss as well other wise the battle was over
6th & 7th Round

- I managed to hit both of my attacks and kill my enemies last standing monster
- After his Stitch Leech had fallen I took the victory
- Battle Replay Link
Summary
- This battle was definitely closer than I would have wanted but still fun to watch
- Not really a strategy to take away from this battle other than you should almost always play gladius monsters in your guild brawl battles
