Splinterlands Battle Of The Week: 32 damage and a Dream

The Ruleset

• Rulesets - Born Again
• Mana Cap - 19
• Active Elements -

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Lobb Lowland

• With the ruleset and element pick that I got I instantly knew I wanted to play a earth element because Quora Towershead was there
• But to play him I first needed to play a summoner that had Conscript as this was a regular ranked wild battle not a guild brawl
• I usually do not like playing Lobb Lowland as I think 6 mana is a bit much for -1 speed and Conscript but in battles were Born Again is active this is a really good stats to play
• but before I picked him a did a quite calculation in my head to figure out was the mana cap enough to play a 6 mana cost summoner and 10 mana Quora Towershead and everything checked out so I went with it
• Conscript - One extra gladiator card may be used in battle

1st Position: Fungus Flinger

• As I played 6 mana summoner and planned to play 10 mana Quora Towershead I still had 3 mana left
• And what better monster for 3 mana to play in Born Again other than Fungus Flinger
• As every monster was going to die 2 times playing Martyr monster was a way to go
• That meant my Quora Towershead was going to get double buffed already making her even stronger for the battle ahead
• Martyr - When this Unit dies, adjacent Units get +1 to all stats
• Blind - All enemy Melee & Ranged attacks have a 15% higher chance of missing their target. Blind also affects units with phase

2nd Position: Quora Towershead

• And for my second monster as said earlier was Quora Towershead with her Bloodlust ability
• The reason my head instantly jumped to Quora Towershead for this *Born Again battle was that if my enemy should decide to play a lot of low mana cost monster my Quora Towershead was going to get a lot of takedowns therefor get really strong really quick
• Bloodlust - +1 to all stats after dealing a killing blow
• Heal - Each round, restores 1/3 of max health (rounded down)
• Immunity - Provides immunity to magic debuffs and Cripple

Starting board

• The starting board was quite decent for me as my enemy did play full board of low mana cost monsters not a single high mana cost monster
• The only sad thing was that although my enemies summoner level was quite low and there for also his monsters were under leveled but he did have a quite strong team
• So I needed to get couple of kills fast to up my hp and therefor my Heal amount
• At this point the battle was totally open to go either way so lets start the battle and have a look

Here's how the battle went

1st, 2nd & 3rd Round

• After first three rounds the board was still looking quite scary for me
• I had gotten my two Martyr buffs and 2 Bloodlust takedowns up to this point
• But the sad thing was that my enemies Bloodlust monster had also gotten one takedown and was now dealing 3 magic damage
• At this moment I was healing 5 hp per round but my enemy was dealing 7 damage per round
• But it seemed like I already had enough damage to get new takedowns every round so hopefully that would be enough, lets keeps watching

4th, 5th & 6th Round

• After 6th round the battle was definitely decided
• My Quora Towershead was already at 20 damage and was healing 6 hp every round
• Even tho the faith of the battle was decided lets make one more stop before the battle end to see were my Quora Towershead is at

7th, 8th & 9th Round

• At this point the battel board was looking quite awesome
• My Quora Towershead was 30 damage, 16 speed and 25 hp in total at this point
• She was going to get one more takedown before the battle ends ending her on all 12 takedowns possible in this battle
• Now I just needed to wait for the start of the next and final round and then claim my victory

10th Round

• It took me 1 attack to kill my enemies last standing monster
• After his Furious Chicken had fallen I took the victory

Summary

• This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch as you do not see a 32 damage monster every day
• The strategy to take away from this battle is the basic Martyr and Bloodlust abilities in Born Again ruleset battles
