Hello everyone!
Today, I'd like to present to you the painting of my cat, Pepper. Well, I used her photo as a reference. I found a funny photo of her, so I hoped to create something interesting.

The process...
Pepper rolled for me, and she was upside down on the cat tree with her head falling off when I took this photo. So, I prepared the canvas with the reference photo on the left, the painting surface on the right and the guiding grid on both reference and painting surface.

皆さん、こんにちは！
今日はまた我が家の美猫、ペッパーを描いたので紹介したいと思います。実はアルバムを見ていたら面白いアングルの写真を見つけたので、何か面白い物が描けるといいなと思いました。

以下、過程です。
写真の中のペッパーはゴロンと仰向けになってキャットツリーから落ちそうになっています。
左側に参考画像をおいて右側に描きます。
グリッドも描きました。

I took the grids off because it was slightly in the way and I kept adding the details and smoothing the colour.

グリッドが少々邪魔になったので外しました。
色をのせてはブレンドする作業が続きます。

Drawing something that is upside down is a little tricky. Your eyes are seeing things upside down, but your brain remembers it in the right way up, so it started to confuse my brain.
In the hope of unconfusing my brain, I turned the whole canvas around, and I found that it looked nice, so I decided to keep it this way. I changed the eye a bit hoping that it would look like her face is right over your face. She is wondering when you are going to wake up. If you don’t get up fast enough, she will drool on you 😆

描いているものが逆さまというのは微妙に頭が痛くなります。目では逆さにとらえているのに、脳は通常アングルで覚えているので混乱するのでしょうか？
混乱を取り除こうと思い、キャンバスを逆さにしてみたらなんと！このアングルの方が良い感じです。このまま描き続けることにしました。
参考画像には片方の目がちゃんと写っていないのですが描きました。
寝ているところにペッパーが来て、顔の真上で見下ろしている感じです。早く起きないとヨダレが垂れてきます、笑

細かいところを描き込んでいきます。

I added more details and the whiskers.
I turned the canvas around more hoping to find the best angle for my cat to look at you.
Hmmmmm... it's hard to decide...

さらに描き込んで、おひげも描きました。
キャンバスをくるくる回して、どの角度からペッパーに見下ろされるのが一番いいか、なかなか決まりませんでした。
