Dcypher Plays to Earn Weekend Ranked Event #9 ⚔

The Weekend

If I thought the weekend ranked during Christmas weekend was bad, the ranked on New Year’s weekend was even worse 😅. Only 10 wins out of the first 25 matches, even though I stuck to my Deception deck that I used in the previous weeks. It may have been just bad RNG and matchups. I faced quite a lot of Big Beast Nature and Frenzied Aggro War decks this week. Additionally, maybe it’s good to note to myself to take a break and continue the next day after losing 5 times in a row, instead of trying to clear all 25 matches on a Friday afternoon.

No DO pack rewards for me this week, sadge ☹️. Well, I still get 1x DO rare for winning at least 30 matches in the weekend. Let’s hope there’s something amazing in there xD.

My [Deception] Deck

I’ve been using pretty much the same Deception deck since I reached Mythic, with of course a few minor tweaks here and there. However, this was the first weekend ranked it got utterly demolished. This really forced me to build and test new decks during the rest of the weekend with different gods. So for now, this Deception deck will be retired till the meta works in it’s favor again.

Balance Changes Incoming

There’s also been a list of balance changes for the core refresh coming very soon (date TBD). And some of those changes look very unfavorable for my Deception deck hah! Rapture Dance was such an amazing board wipe card, now it’s like a reverse Sole Survivor:

• Change text from "Deal damage to each enemy creature equal to the number of enemy creatures on the board." to "Target an enemy creature, deal its strength in damage to each other creature.”

After 2 months of playing Gods Unchained:

• • Spent around ~$150 on buying packs and cards on secondary market
