Dcypher P2E Weekend #20/21, Shining some light on Light⚔

The Weekend

The meta is a mess and my PC crashed due to a dead SSD, so it took me a while to get up and running again, but I am back :). Everyone is struggling with their wins. After the broken Magic weekend 19, things got mixed up again after the GU team used the nerf hammer on Magic. But even with the nerf, there’s still a broken card from CSR set in Magic, Dralamar; Literally a breaker of crystals and the embodiment of infinite mana. It used to cost 6 mana and if you didn’t end the match by then and this card came on the board you were almost certain that the match was over. However, a new contender also sprung forth in Light. With some buff and the new cards from CSR finally getting into rotation, Light received much love. Aggro and even control light became popular. So I thought I tried weekend 20 with light myself. I got destroyed... by other Light no less. So it was back to the drawing board for me. Only 12/25 wins. Weekend 21 I switched back to Deception and got a pretty meh score of 14/25, one win short of getting a guaranteed legendary again. How did your weekend go and what will you be using next :)?

Week 20

Here’s the breakdown of week 20. As you can see I got destroyed in mirror matches against light, but also faced many aggro War gods that also rekt me. Unfortunately, no magic encounters eventhough I had build a semi anti magic light deck.

Week 21

Back to Deception. This weekend Light was represented very strong again. This time the matchups were a bit more favorable for me thanks to counters I could use with Deception such as Umber Arrow. No mirror matches though. I wonder if there will be a weekend again where the matchups are spread out more evenly.

Pack Rewards

Even though, I didn’t get any guaranteed legendary packs from the weekend I did pull legendaries from regular Rare packs!

Maybe the heavy Light meta, increased the odds of getting light leggies. Either way, I’m not complaining xD:

• Thaeriel’s Anvil: I’ve come against this card several times, but usually matches don’t drag out till 9 mana. Usually opponents I’ve seen play this generated it randomly from a Jason or other card generator. Pretty strong to build a strong frontline wall endgame (if you can get there at least).
• Triumvirate Prophet: This plays on the Chosen One keyword, which I actually never tried to play with in my Lights builds. Anyone have good Chosen One synergies? Can’t say I’ve seen this play much either, eventhough it’s only a 3 mana card. Happy to have it in the collection non the less for future options.
• Hevner, Grim Shuck: This one is from the new CSR set. +1/+1 from each Wild creature in the void. Might add this to my Control Nature deck focused on wild creatures. Might work great with the Guerilla Gardner I pulled a few weeks ago. I think this one is the most viable one to use that I pulled in this batch.
