Dcypher P2E Weekend #19, Magic Broken?⚔
The Weekend
The first weekend with new cards! And magic was broken. Just look at the second screenshot from gudecks that I took right before the weekend finished. It didn’t matter what type of magic deck you were playing, you had a pretty high chance of winning regardless. After a long time BWD got dethroned from the top deck with win-rate. For me, I didn’t do great either. Not knowing what to expect, I stuck to deception and barely got 13/25 wins. And to be fair, that’s still a decent amount of packs if you are playing in Mythic as there are still so many new Core Fresh Refresh cards to collect. However the dev team quickly responded and used the nerf hammer on Magic. You can read the full list of balance changes on the official post.
Magic Decks are Busted (stats from the weekend)
Week 19
As you can see the script has been flipped. Magic has taken the place of Nature. 44% of my games were faced against magic. Nature was still quite popular taking the second spot. The other gods were spread quite evenly for me.
Pack Rewards
So what new cards did I manage to get :D. Here’s the highlights from last week
Got some Nature love. I managed to pull the Guerilla Gardener from a regular Rare DO pack. And who doesn’t love the Frisky Fox Pup. And finally, for reaching level 300 I finally got a CSR legendary with Animon.
- Guerilla Gardener: While I haven’t seen this card played much, I do see its potential in more Control Nature decks as the 8 mana cost is quite expensive. Definitely something I will keep in mind if that meta ever becomes popular again.
- Frisky Fox Pup: Who doesn’t love the art on the Frisky Pup. Heck @jomigloy even made a Twitch emoji from it :D. Costing 1 mana and having ward, this can be a great card for any Nature deck early game if you want to counter those pesky magic decks or spells.
- Animon, Pustulant Impslough: Honestly, one of the ugliest creatures I have seen in this game. Furthermore, I have no idea what all that text means. If you know how it works, do share in the comments. I’ll just have to play with it and see if it is any good.
Deck Adjustments
Here’s the link to my previous post and deck breakdown. And here’s the adjusted deck. I decided to be go with a more hidden strategy and removed all the order cards. Didn’t quite work out in the end though, or the matchups were just bad.

Yoo, I unpacked Animon too, although I don't see any way to make use of it reasonably currently. Maybe in the future, it might enable some fun combos. Guerilla Gardener is definitely playable in Control Nature, although with the Revifification change it makes Compost Charm a must-have if you're playing it.
Nice, yea it takes big heals for Nature to survive into that late game without any mana ramps
Animon summons implings for pretty much doing anything, I think the once per turn is in general so you can only get 1 impling a turn. Looks terrible on paper a 2/2 is awful stats and you only guaranteed 2 implings one for Animon summon and one when he inevitably dies on your opponent's turn.
yea the stats do seem awful. And I wonder what they mean with another zone (the void?). Curious to see if there's any good combo builds around this
