Some Ruleset Will Demand You To Make Some Extra Effort

Hello there

Welcome to my Splinterlands posts, everyweek I write a couple of Splinterlands posts to share my experience in playing this amazing game. In this post I will share my experience in playing in a certain ruleset that we need to rethink our meta because they will make things ineffective and sometime making ineffective approach become effective. These things will demand you to put a bit more effort than a normal condition, because your meta will get some weakness later.

Before I go further, I hope you all are having a good day today. Take care your health first!

ok back to our topic today

I have won that battle, however it is a tricky one. Basically people will see this is as a full melee lineup, so let's play with anti melee or buffing up our melee, right?

Ok let see the battle so you can understand why I say this will make normal meta won't work properly

HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE

Ok this was the line up of the battle. Usually I will talk about my line up and my meta, but this time I will talk about my opponent meta. In general they came with everything proper

  1. They used Eternal Tofu, an upgrade version Mylor. This was the perfect summoner for this kind of ruleset.
  2. They used as many units they could get, in hope of killing my units through thorn damage.
  3. They made a variation. One with bloodlust, Jared Scar. One with shield, Chaos Knight. The last one was xenith monk, with his healing.

What kind of team did I come with? Seriously I only came with two units. In general this shouold be an auto lose for me, however they were things that I believed will play greatly in my lineup:

  1. I utilized armor in offense and defense. I had my unit ready with repair, the Chimney Wallstop.
  2. I try to hit as hard as possible. That's why I need that Chimney Wallstop.

My plan was dull right, but this dull plan would change the flow of the battle... let see how this progressed

  • The battle started with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent. Eternal Tofu indeedly was perfect for this kind of battle, the melee only. With his +2 health, he put their team upto another level.
  • They came with 5 melee damage per round, It was a simple slugfest.
  • My team had 8 melee damage per round. Both of my unit were attacking.

  • We started our move by killing their jared scar by one hit. This led to Chimney Wallstop got powered up from his bloodlust ability. I believe this was already a big blow for them.

  • The second round started with their Chaos Knight came forward as the next tank. She was too tough for melee slugfest so I guessed we could not took her down instantly.

  • The third round started with their Chaos Knight at the brink of death.

  • my Chimney Wallstop killed her, and got buffed up

  • This was the round fourth, things looked bad for them

  • From bad became the worst... Another kill from my Chimney Wallstop

  • ok good game. It wasn't even a good fight

Why Not Talking About Chimney Wallstop

The MVP of that battle was Chimney Wallstop, who at the end of the battle became very strong like this:

Chimney Wallstop is one of the Gladius edition, a gladiator from Fire Element. At first, he is just another big hitter with reach ability, however when he reaches level 5, everything changes.

He starts to have that repair ability, which replenish armors in your team. This turns him into big hitter with supportive capability. In certain ruleset, such as Up Close and Personal (melee only battle) he can become over powered.

There are reasons why this battle, although he was the MVP, I still think that it's a matter of ruleset. So hear my points down here:

  1. Mana wise, which was 24, was not meant for this Chimney Wallstop. Chimney Wallstop should excell at mana cap above 40.
  2. Going with two big units only was not a smart move. When one of them died, we could say we lost half of our strength.
  3. Basically I should still lose against Eternal Tofu...

The reasons why they lost was simple, they did not take Fog of War seriously. They relied too much on Eternal Tofu, and they made them slipped off not reading the ruleset properly.

When we have thorn ability, especially everyone from Eternal Tofu, or Mylor,, melee units only battle seems to be already won automatically. That why I say in subject, Make Some Extra Effort.

Nobody wants to be intentionally slipped off, so no point to say they are wrong or lose their guard off. Just say, put some extra effort, read more about the ruleset, your holy grail might be rusted there.

Ok That's all for today post, and Thanks for reading my post and see you in Splinterlands Battles!!
