Playing With Triple Speed Manipulators
Greetings Summoners
We meet again here on my weekend Splinterlands post. Recently I am trying several new meta, which most of them are not great. I have been in trial and errors looking for a decent meta, regarding I will try to reduce my rental cards. Let say I want to be more independent with my own card, not lend or rent ones.
So yeah, I have been losing a lot recently. Some because of my opponents performed very well, some were due to the meta I thought it would work... fell apart.
Today I share you one of those meta which I have found working well. I have got many wins from using or spamming this one. It is by having 3 Units that buff and debuff speeds, I call them speed manipulators.
Let me share you a battle so I can describe it better...
Ok I pick this battle from modern Silver Rank battle. Both of us are heavy or thick with Death Element. My opponent tried to gain advantages by using double attack and cripple, while my team was focusing on creating the speed superiority.

These 5 were my backline and this was the meta I have talked about. Three of them were speed modifiers, either Swiftness or Slow. If you counted IMPEDE Ability in, we would have 4 of 5 units as speed modifiers.
However I prefer not to count that ability as speed modifier, because it only affect the unit that get hit by the ability holder. It doesn't imply to all units, whether our own units or our opponent's units.
Ok let see those three units I have been spaming with..

We start with the weakest one, Silverleaf Warlock. This is a unit from Conclave Arcana edition, the core unit. I have him only at level 3, honestly I do not see the necessity to level him up to level 5.
He has a new ability of backfire at level 5, it's a great ability however I could not see how I will exploit it with a mere 3 speed only. Unless later there will be an extra ability from other unit such as blind, this extra ability would be rarely effective.
This Silverleaf Warlock is not great, but atleast he is very useful in many meta. I do not know what you think about this one, a yay or a nay?

This whole idea about spamming speed modifiers came after I got this incredible Conclave Arcana reward card, the Gravebrand Warlock. I have him on level 2 and I am trying my best to get him up to level 4, which he will get the most important ability for him, the Execute.
3 magic damage + execute is a lethal combination, you could add a blast from some summoners, and he would be one of the most dangerous one.
However with him alone, it's quite paradox. He buffs everyone speed, using his swiftness however he only has 1 speed. So the snail buffs other speed up lol. If he doesn't have 3 magic damage, this would be a big buss card.

The last one is Meriput Slinger, without any doubt this is one of my favorite card. He has 4 range damage and slows opponent down, a great range unit for all kind of conditions. I have posts some about him in the past, so I would not need to say more about him.
The sad thing is, soon this card will be put into wild format, because soon all Rebellion edition will go there. Well it is not that soon, we still have another year here. But a year could be very fast you know.
THE RESULT
Let see the result step by step here

My team dominated the first round, taking out one of their unit and this made the us manage to have one unit advantage in the round two. Th reason is simple, we hit first, and they will die first before launching their attack.
Two units with swiftness and one with slow, it created 3 speed gap and in the end my team would move first before they could move.

However it did not mean my team would win directly in the second round. They kept trailing us because they had some great units there.
Desolation was one of those. This unit was awesome, and even we slowed him down, he still could hit us well and killed our tanks.

Fast forward to last round, it was the sixth. We killed their Desolation and it was the end of this battle.
So did my opponent made a mistake? well They might, those were not a best of best line up anyway but if I did not deploy those three speed manipulators, I might lose this battle because my selection was more limited, I did not have some exquisite or fancy cards to compete against them.
What matters most, these three speed manipulators proved they were strong together, forming a meta that worthy to compete in the rank battle decently.
And that's what I want to deliver in this post, I hope you get entertained with this topic, and feel free to leave your comments and opinions below.
