Greeting Fellow Summoners

I hope you have good days playing with Splinterlands, as I have seen some dynamics recently in user base... Some people left the game, some old users came back too, it is a common thing that people come and go in this game. However for Splinterlands that has last more than 3 years, it is wonderful to see many people still excited playing this game.

So today I will share a silly meta, not a great one, but sometime when I have a good hunch about this, I use this meta and win... of course it is not a guaranteed win, but it is pretty acceptable to say this meta work... I call this one Not A Dynamic Duo

Batman and Robin are two superhero that are powerful, they cooperate and make a dynamic duo. However my meta or let say my combo here is not formed by two strong cards. I do not wish to say weak cards, because I do believe in certain condition, the weakest card can bring you a victory, so I prefer to say there is no weak cards in Splinterlands...

Ok back to my story, these cards are not something strong, but they are very handy, and together... they tend to make a Big Tank Combo... I mean they work together as if a single entity of a big tank. Let see who they are:

The main tank and the leading role, Silverblade Fighter. Silverblade fighter is an orthodox tank, he is hard to be killed due to his thick armor and he has void armor ability, which force all incoming magic attacks to hit the armor first. The only weakness he has is his attack, well he hits like a girl.

There are some other tanks with void armor ability, and some of them has high armor too. So what makes this one special? Well, he has flank ability, which make the melee unit behind him able to hit because of given a reach ability. Is this an awesome ability? in my opinion this is a good one but not awesome. What makes this ability useful is that it opens a new approach in utilizing a melee unit not on the main tank position.

In this case, flank creates a new combo with other unit...

And for this case too, the other unit is Nimbledook Explorer. Nimbledook is not a melee unit, however later in his 5th level, he gets that Armor strike ability. In other words, he will throw his armor to the opponent as a melee attack, which the damage is equivalent with the armor value.

So this creates a good combo with Silverblade Fighter. Ordinary melee units will be utilized with reach ability, however for this Nimbledook Explorer it will be more than utilization, because his protect ability is empowring the Silverblade fighter too.

So both of them has a symbiosis mutualism, which boths giving and receiving benefits from each other. This is not some ultimate combo, but in some case, this combo becomes very dominant.

HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE

I pick this battle and I know what you guys want to say. My opponent is an arrogant one, he comes with 4 units only lol. However the goal of this battle is to show how strong my not a Dynamic Duo one, and this battle has the right rulesets. It has Equalizer and Equal Opportunity, so every units will have same health point and this will cause all attacks will be aimed to the main tank... which is the Silverblade Fighter.

Same as yesterday post, I will not discuss the battle in detail, you can see it for yourself by clicking the image above but allow me to show you some decisive point in that battle.

• When the battle starts, everyone buffing and debuffing, in the end my Silverblade Fighter has 9 armor and 8 health point. I buff him up with a healing ability from the summoner. So good luck in killing that one!

• My Silverblade Fighter got hit by enfeeble ability, making his melee damage down to 1 point and literally he wouldn't not be able to hit anymore. However this was not an issue regarding I had Nimblebrook Explorer behind him who kept hitting from behind.

• Ok, that Silverblade Fighter almost died, but he survived and things started to be different because they lost a unit and that made their attack damage lowered.

• Allow me to fast forward up to the end. This is the end and you can see all of my units have maximum health point. We could say literally my opponent unable to break the Silverblade Fighter - Nimblebrook Explorer duo in front.

OK this battle is a success one, my opponent all fumble in front of this duo. However there are reason why I say this duo is not a dynamic duo, because it has several major flaws that have to be thought over before deploying them.

1. Thorn and Corrosive ward are the natural counter for them. If my opponent tanks have that abilities, the duo will crumble badly and I will instantly lose the battle.
2. Sneak and Snipe can by pass these wall duo, and if they kill the Nimblebrook Explorer first, the formation will be crumble. A blast attack can kill Nimblebrook first too
3. This is not a sure unbreakable wall, if your opponent play a very text book approach, which all attack are aimed to the front with the heaviest ammo, it will break this duo too.

So to make this duo works well, you need to have high confidence about your opponent preferred tank which do not have those abilities. Make sure you have a good firepower on the backline. The rest? well it's luck anyway
