My dCity Journal - Setting Up The Next Foundation

Greeting fellow dCity Citizens

I am using a new thumb as we are entering a new quartal in 2025. I like the previous picture better than this new one, but we need some refreshment here or else... I might be bored with this game lol

I have been looking for something that refreshes me in this game, so I decide maybe... for a bit.. I try to do something different... not something that significant but important, which it is setting up the foundation of my dCity.

Before I go, I always restate this to remind me and my friends that whenever I develop my dCity, I will follow this rule of thumb::

1. Buildings > Citizens. Initially I bought cheap citizen such as workers, because they are cheaper. I got some buffs, like tax refund, income, popularity by buying special citizens in discount. But when they died, stats dropped badly, and my rank crumbled. So Right now I focus more on buildings over citizens.
2. My Income Rank is mainly generated by young citizens. Instead of trying different methods from selling them and replace them with better NFTs or Cards, whether they are building or citizens, I try to focus increasing basic income and fighting social support cost in order to be able to house in more young citizens.
3. Incase I will add new rule here, they should not change the first and second rules.

Ok, not we can get into the main part

TECHNOLOGY AND ART AS PART OF THE DCITY FOUNDATION

This is my dCity right now. Everything look on track, nothing to worry, right? if you see the red arrow above, my dCity has 4 education and 6 Creativity right now. Education will give you some technology, while Creativity will give you some arts which you can use it to replace your plain background with some art (image)

However to get those Technologies and Arts, you need certain buildings. That's what I plan to do today, getting those buildings into my dCity before I really need them.

I decided to get this Art Gallery which would allow me to receive art or background later, if my dCity creativity has reached higher value than now. The second building was Research Center, which will allow me to get technologies when my dCity Education gets higher value than now.

The last but the most important one was to get Apartment, because I would need population to work at those two new buildings. And with this, I believe everything is completed.

This is my dCity after I add those three buildings. I still have 7 more unemployment, so I guess my work is not yet finished here. I will get a couple more buildings now.

as expected, I go with a couple of barbershop. Barbershop and Ice Cream Shop have the highest yield of Income per workers. So picking this building is a no brainer move for anyone who in need to boost up their dCity base income.

And there is my notification again, so everything is working well

This is the final result of my dCity today after adding 5 buildings. I think it looks great, although nothing change for the Tax Refund. Overall my Education and Creativity grow well, I even feel poked to boost them up more, but I need to focus on my main mission first, which is boosting my Income by housing a horde of young citizens, as many as possible.

Right now my Max Income is 155 $SIM, I think this is a safe number for two weeks, which means I could get a bit relaxed now, next time I might go on reducing the Social Support cost.

My Income rank is stepping up step by step, it is natural regarding I only rely on the new young citizen. I might need to get a building that can boost up Tax Refund later, else it will take years to get into top 100.

I think my Popularity, Education, and Creativity have grown well too. None are in 1000+ position anymore, maybe soon I will get one of them into top 400 leaderboard rank too.

WHAT I LEARN AND SEE TODAY

There are a few interesting stuffs I see this week, I can not say everything but I will spill two of them. The first one is some cards are sold undervalue.

I see some people selling economist at 1500 $SIM. that a steal actually, I wonder if @arveno or @ramadhanight might buy them when they see them. Economist is one of the best citizen NFT in this game. Their stats is great but they have a very reasonable price.

Not only Economist, Lawyer is on sale too. This was the citizen NFT I had been looking for, and never got it due to the price. it is ridiculous people sell it at 7000 $SIM, regarding Lawyer gives you 10 Tax Refund.

But those only from my point of view. Maybe those citizens are old citizens which soon become retired citizens or maybe become dead citizens directly. I don't know, and none knows except the seller.

I stick to my rule of thumb, that I won't buy Citizens NFT anymore until my dCity has outgrown @arveno and @ramadhanight.

OK before I close this post, another one I would like to share is about Creativity. I found out that increasing creativity is a lot easier, I could easily get into top 400 Creativity leaderboard. However behind that easy to get condition, there is a good reason behind it.

• Most creativity building doesn't give Income. so You might get high creativity but your Income or maybe your popularity doesn't even budge at all.
• When you get background, you might be very happy. But the second one and the third and so on are not that important anymore. You only need one, not like technologies which you need as many as possible.
• The last and the most important one, Technologies are pricy but Backgrounds are cheap.

So before you think getting into top 400 Creativity leaderboard is easy, it is really easy because people prefer to fight for top 400 Education leaderboard by increasing their Education point rather than spending in Creativity.
