Hi everyone welcome to my weekly Splinterlands Post. This is my routine weekend Splinterlands post as my participation in Splinterlands Social Media Challenge in Hive Blockchain. As for today topic, I want to share my experience about playing in Small Mana Battle. I have shared a post below about how I play in Low Mana Battles.

Now the questions I often hear about that... "I just tired" or "my head is full do not want to think a lot about this game" or "Is there a quick fix about low mana battles?" Well, If I answer that with NO answer, then I won't have any topic to be shared today.

I know what most people want, to have some sort of 'HOLY GRAIL", a formation that they can spam it as many as they can, and they still get a good amount of return... Is this possible in Low Mana Battle? Based on my opinion and experience, that can be done in two alternatives:

1. First Alternative : Make Some Set of Formation

To take this alternative, you must have many small monsters, I mean not just below 4 mana monsters, but 1-2 mana monsters. They are expensive that's why I don't like to go with this way.

Another consideration is that small mana monsters aren't flexible. They are great during certain condition only, so it means you need a lot of them not just 2-3 monsters. So in another way, this alternative forces you to twist your brain too but in a more lenient way.

2. Second Alternative : Pick Your Champ

I usually do this way if I find myself not wanting to think much on Splinterlands. I pick a Champ, one hell of monsters who can fight multiple opponents. There are some monsters who are qualified for this, let say Flesh Golem, Quora, Djinn Chwala, and many more... My favorite and I think he is the best one, is Seamonster

Sea Monster is not the strongest monster out there. His stats is great however I find spamming him a low mana battle keeps giving a good result, the win rate can go above 55%.

I want to show how great Sea Monster by having Quora as his opponent. Let's see how that battle in detailed below:

Finally I got this battle, which I had been looking for months. A battle between Sea Monster and Quora Towershead. Of course I won that battle, but let see how I planned this one.

PositionCardAbilityPlan and Strategy
Summoner+1 Speed, +1 Armor, +1 HealthI think Lux Vega is a cheat in this game. It is a debatable topic whether She is the best summoner or not, however one of the best for sure. If you are unsure which plan you want to use, pick her directly.
Main TankHeal, ThornOnce upon a time, this dragon, or monster, was the best and most favorite tank in Water Element, competing with Torhillo The Frozen for the title of the strongest tank.
SecondRedemptionI was loking for 1 mana monster who could join up the fight, it looked like Pete was the best choice. I expected him to die due to blast damage, then he would explode delivering redemption damage to opponent. Simple but Silly tactic

ROUND 1

image.png

  • The battle started with my Summoner, Lux Vega, buffed up her team. Prince Julian in their side did not do any, because He offered low mana only
  • My opponent came with 2 Melee damage, and 2 magic damage. combined all they became 4 damage per round.
  • My team had 5 Melee Damage and 1 range damage. A total 6 Damage per round.
  • Their Quora terrorizing my team with blast damage, hurting Pete behind. Meanwhile my blast did not hurt the bald Kinjo.

ROUND 2

image.png

  • It looked like only Quora and Pete who got injured in the first round

ROUND 3

image.png

  • Pete definitely would die in this round. This would be an endurance contest between Quora and Sea Monster. however Sea Monster 5 Melee Damage changed the tide

ROUND 4

  • The end... Sea Monster ate the bald guy. Good Night

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

image.png

Quora Towershead is one of the strongest in Splinterlands, and for sure the most feared and anticipated by everyone. If that battle was 6 vs 6, definitely Quora would bashed out everyone. So why did Quore lose? There are two answer for that. First Lux Vega as one of the best summoner in this game. Second is Sea Monster.

SEA MONSTER KEY WINNING POINTS

Complete Set of Duelist

While Quora is the best and strongest monster in this game, Sea Monster who is not the best, is one of the best Duelist in this game.

  1. He has every stats he needs, High Melee attacks, High Health points... Well he is not fast, but he isn't a Sloth. So he can still land his attack
  2. 2 great abilities. Heal is a great defensive ability, and Thorn is a counter attack ability. So Sea Monster does attack, defend and counter attacking... while Quora is not counter attacking, she only attack and defend.

Sea Monster Sets The Bar of Minimum Damage

Quora does to, but lets talk about Sea Monster here. Sea Monster Heals himself 3 health point per turn, it means if opponent comes with a combined damage less than 3, it's a lose, no need to watch the battle. Because Sea monster will keep having his health at max.

On other side,Sea Monster has 5 Melee damage which is very dangerous because he can kill anyone with that fire power. You can say Oshannus has ForceField to negate that, that's true. but Oshannus only has 3 magic damage which means Oshannus can not kill Sea Monster.

Sea Monster Weakness is Hard to get in Low Mana

There are many way to kill Sea Monster easily. First using Halving ability, which half his huge damage or using a force field ability. Using a Cripple ability is great to reduce his max health so he won't heal that many. Affliction is a good way too, shutting down his heal.

The main issue is... for below 16 Mana cap battle, those won't be available... That's why I say Sea Monster is a best choice for low mana battle, when you don't have many choice of tactics, just go with huge attacks, high health and high healing rate which Sea Monster has them all

Ok that's all for today post. Have fun with your battles!!

I also love playing low value battles. You have taken the SEA MONSTER COMMON Water card, it is a very good card. You won this battle because of this card.
