Keep Grinding Your Gladiators!! Stronger Is Better

Hello All,

Welcome to my Splinterlands posts, everyweek I am writing a couple of splinterlands posts because this game is getting interesting now. We are going to have Conclave Arcana presale soon, in a couple of days. Maybe too soon that I feel like I can not wait for it!!

But before I start sharing my Splinterlands experience in getting those Conclave Arcana cards, or packs, I want to remind you all that there is an old version of packs that is bounded into our account. It is the Gladiator or Gladius cards.

The name itself should be confusing for a new players. In the past I often got confused whether Gladius cards and Gladiator cards were the same or different.. Turned out the same LoL. This is the cards that came from the past, but we still can play it nowadays during Guild Brawls or rank battles with certain rulesets.

Through this post I want to remind you all to keep collecting them, and upgrade your cards. Some people might forget about them because they are soulbound, you can't buy nor sell them so economically they have zero value.

So today I will share my experience in opening 44 packs Gladius packs. A small tip from me, do not open packs below 25 units, because you might get disappointment for getting zero gold foil and zero legendary units. 50 is an ideal number, but I lose my patience so I open them all now.

I love seeing the packs animation and sound effect. As if something amazing will come out and surprise us all. Each packs have a little difference in their animation, but can you tell it what's the different? I bet you can't.

Anyway here is what I get from these 44 packs opening, if you want to see it for youer self, you can check the history here: https://splinterlands.com/mana-well?t=f6490e5d17e98d64cd76620b50fcd6c9cb69ef5b&ref=dewabrata

The first 10 cards were amazing. I got 2 Xulax Nightwind, which was a legendary cards. There were three Gold Foil Rare cards, I believed I would need them later during my Guild Brawl.

The second 10 cards were not less either. I had that Larrisa Kerato, which was a Legendary unit too. A Gold foil Katrelba Gobson was awesome. The rest was a so so. Do I call that Quora Towershead as so so? Yes, but not as mean as she was a so so, but nothing I could do which just a 3 copies of her.

The rest, which were 13 cards, were actually good too. I got a legendary Sola Ranjell and a Gold foil Whistling Damon. I got several epics too, so yes the last 13 cards were good!

I could say that this Gladius packs opening was a big success, I got no half ass result here. 4 Legendary cards and 5 Gold Foil from 44 Packs, what do you say?

So what should I do next? of course I will upgrade my Gladius cards. Literally I have new addition of 220 gladius cards, so there are things I could upgrade here. Let me show you what have changed in my Gladius Edition

LEGENDARY

Let start with Legendaries. I have got 4 new ones right?

Xulax Nightwind is upgraded to level 2. He has extra damage and now he gets that Thorn ability. This is a good choice during Healed out ruleset, because during that ruleset he is a perfect replacement for Cursed Windeku.

Larissa Kerato is getting her level up too. She has void ability now. However I still see this card as a fragile one. Somehow I think 3 health point for a legendary unit like her is too harsh. Seriously, she should have a bit higher health point, maybe 5 to 6. I still do not have any idea how I could utilize her in my line up

Unfortunately, my Sola Ranjell is no use this time. I already have one Gold Foil Sola Ranjell, so that extra one copy of regular foil means nothing to me.

EPIC

I have got some good epic rarity cards from that opening however only one card that I could level up this time. That card is Trapp Falloway from Death Element.

I like this card although I rarely use him. It is hard, or maybe I should say it is a rare occasion where the ruleset suits him. This is not something that you could use frequently, however when the ruleset comes, this guy definitely becomes a game changer.

RARE

Now we have arrived on the rare rarity cards. I only have two good upgrade in this rarity.

The first one is the gold foil Afredo. I like this upgrade very much, regarding I play on Gold Foil fray. The only downside is that I rarely use Alfredo. I prefer using other gladiator cards such as Isgald Voltz. But don't know now, 2 range damage from 2 mana units seems a good one. Maybe there will be more opportunity to play him in later.

The next one is one of my all time favorite, not because she is super strong, but more like she fits my meta well. She is Captain Katie from Life Element. Look at her at level 4, 4 magic damage with snipe ability. She could kill any backline units with 1-2 attempts. I see her as a powerful gladiator before, now she becomes better.

Ok what about the common? Sadly nothing I could say proudly about my common rarity gladiator set. I have already some good level common gladiator cards before, and these new common gladiator cards are not enough to be used for leveling up.

I still think this is a good opening, eventhough I do not get many upgrades. Maybe next time I will open 50 Gladius packs, and see if I will get more upgrades from those packs.

But for today... I feel great and I would like to thank you for your visit here. See you in Splinterlands Rank Battles!!!
