Go Straight - Fast and Hard - Stupid Meta But Proven Well
Greeting Splinterlands Players
Welcome to another my weekly Splinterlands post, as usual I make some Splinterlands post during weekends. Today I make this one as part of community engagement challenge, and today challenge is about sharing our favorite strategy.
MY FAVORITE STRATEGY : KISS
I have many meta I could come up, and I am not the best player here. I beleive strong players have hundreds of Meta(s). If I have to pick my favorite, I will go with KISS.
KISS stands for KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. Yes I love to put stupid meta, the most standard one, and somehow my win rate while using it is not bad. The meta is about go straight, Hit fast and hard. It means that I bring all units that hit opponent main tank position, and they are hit at their best.
No need to sneak, opportunity, or sniping. Just hit hard all of my line up to knock my opponent tank down. This is so basic, isn't it? Yes it is!!! So why do I like this strategy?
- CHEAP!!! You don't need powerful units to build up strong meta. Almost all units can be used here, including those cheap ones and they still can build strong meta.
- You don't need to overthink any. I use this strategy whenever I am tired from works, or maybe playing while writing some posts.
- Amazingly, eventhough you will lose badly frequently, you might win as many as you lose too. This works!
I know this sounds silly, but let's see how our battle then... It will explain more about it
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
This is the battle I pick for today post. I am using my favorite strategy here, which is having my lineup all attacking their main tank position with the best damage I could come up with. Of course there are some justification here, for example I do not use Pelacor Arbalest due to his small health and bad speed.
So everything here just go straight to their main tank position. My opponent did not follow this rule, they have some 3 units that have their own attack pattern. Scatter attack from Chaos Dragon, Airborne Killing from Night Reaper, and Opportunity attack from Olivia of the brook.
Ok Let see how this go
- The battle started with both side buffing and debuffing both parties. Both of us used different approach, they wanted to scatter their damage to maximize the blast effect, and my team focused on their main tank position.
- They came with 4 melee damage, 2 range damage and 7 magic damage, combined all it became 13 damage per round.
- My team had 8 melee damage, 7 range damage and 4 magic damage, so our team had a total 19 damage per round.
- Ultimately my team hit a lot harder here. in a round 19 damage, that was enough to know down any unit if they were not protected by some abilities or armors.
- They only lost their martyr, Venari Marksrat, in the first round. It was hard to kill that Arkemis The Bear, especially when Venary Crystalsmith kept healing him.
- However this round my team killed that bear.
- Round 3 started with 4 vs 6 condition. My team had been dominating this battle from beginning. Thing would not look good on their side, regarding my 4 units were in good shape.
- However none died in this round. Not easy to kill that chaos Dragon for the same reason with Arkemis The Bear.
- We entered the round 4 here. This was actually the last round, all of their units had their health depleted from the blast damage.
- This battle end with my Corsair Bosun killed their Venary Crystalsmith Good Game.
Battle Talk and Closure
It was an interesting lineup from both of us, however my team outplayed them and came up as the victor convincingly. If I have to pick one unit as the MVP (most valuable player), That unit will be Corsair Bosun.
He was the best one because he had that reflection shield ability. He negated many blast damage, which those number should have killed Corsair Bosun too. However I am not talking about Corsair Bosun in detail here, but related to our topic, Corsair Bosun is the perfect example about it. Let see:
- He is cheap. Who say Bosun is expensive? You can get Corsair Bosun in Gold Foil form for $1 only.
- He simple hit the first unit, the main tank position. No need calculus or geometric formula do describe what he does.
- He is not fast, but he is not a snail. He has the speed that we need.
And that's why he is always be a great choice for my line up. As you can see, all my unit there are fast and hit hard. Well exception with Venary Crystalsmith, atleast she made some attacks there. It is a strong reason why although I often said Merdaali Guardian of Water Element has the best support, tank heal and repair, I do not see her as the best support for my meta. It's all because she doesn't have any attack damage, like this Venari Crystalsmith.
My team was actually almost countered twice, but my opponent failed to capitalized that due to low attack damage. It were times when I could not take down their Arkemis the bear and Chaos Dragon in one round.
So That's the glance about my favorite meta, KISS, the most simple one hitting their front line as hard and as fast as my team can. Picking all attacking units and try to build momentum by killing their main tank in one go. Do you think this is good? of course not, but feel free to leave a comment below.
