Getting Started By Understanding League Level Cap or Tier
Good Day Everyone
Today I want to share something about Splinterlands, and I think my target audience are the beginners. I have been playing Splinterlands since late 2021 and there are more downs I have got rather than the good side.
Since the first day I played Splinterlands until today, there have been many changes, and each changes will make things work differently. What's good on 2021 was not good for 2022. And what people thought as the best in the past actually can't work in 2025.
I am saying that first in my post because I believe one day some players might read this post and think that who the hell this dude writing irrelevantly about Splinterlands. Yes that might be the case, because none knows what changes we will have later in Splinterlands.
Building Up Decks For The Cheapest
Let's be blunt here, I am a casual player and I do not wish to spend big on Splinterlands or any other game. The bigger or higher level account you have here, you will get more but you have to really spend big... Like $1000-$2000 annually for the new edition... Does that sound interesting for you?
Here the deal, I am not asking you to spend less in this game, nor the opposite. It is more like understanding your characteristic and find the best spending that fit your preference.
I am casual and stingy, so I prefer to aim the most productive one, the higher APY or APR, and some people call me as maximalist although I am not... because I limit my wallet spending. Maximalist really aim the optimum number regardless the cost.
In the past the best way to get the optimum deck was to build 3 strong elements. It means we were sacrificing 2 elements and that would literally made your spending 60% of the needed amount. However that approach does not work anymore.
Currently with the new cards, which has the blood line effect, things have changed again. What matter most right now is to have more cards available for selection. This means you have to get as many cards as you have to, of course with the appropriate edition. I am not telling you to get all the editions out there, just for the modern only.
Understanding League Level Cup
In the past this thing was easy, we only needed to call as Bronze League Level, Silver League Level, Gold League level, and the last was Diamond League level cap.
What does it mean anyway?
Well to make this simple, you can see the legendary summoner above. I pick
Sheng Xiao by random, so it is not about him. You can see that level 1 Sheng Xiao can bring level 3 common rarity, level 2 rare rarity and so on. On level 2 he can bring level 5 common rarity card.
I think you can read that and figure this out quickly. Level 1 Legendary is what we call as bronze league level cap, level 2 Legendary is the Silver league, level 3 is the gold league, and the last one the level 4 is the diamond league level cap.
This is the basic you need to know, if you want to play casually and more budget friendly. There are no need to push all the cards to the max level, even though it is good thing to do. The same as that, there is no need to push your beloved favorite cards, to the max. It is good, but it is actually pointless.
The right thing to do is to aim a tier there, and try to have as many cards into that tier. Casual player usually aim level 1 2 and 3, or Bronze, Silver and Gold league cards. Depends on your budget there, I have seen many great players playing with Bronze League cards, and nothing wrong with that.
These are the Conclave Arcana cards I own today. I have rent the rest, but these are the one I buy from the market. So as time progresses, there will be more Conclave Arcana sets there. I just started with the commons first.
As you can see, all are Bronze and Silver league cap. I see no point I buy Gold league cards regarding I do not aim playing on that Tier. This way my spending is more controllable and as you see... I am not a salty player who bitching about not having proper earning in Splinterlands... because I know what I can get and I spend on the right budget.
