Briar Patch? Embrace Yourself With Melee ~ LOL ~
Hello, Good Day Everyone
Welcome to my Splinterlands posts, I regularly write a couple of splinterlands posts everyweek. It's a great game and I like sharing my experience playing this game. Today I want to share a unique post title:
Embrace Yourself With Melee During Bariar Patch ruleset
It is a controversial actually, and it is not proper to be shared to new players. Why does it not proper for it?
Briar patch is a ruleset that gives thorn ability to all units in the battle field. As we know, thorn ability is one of natural counter for melee attacks. Melee units will get some damage if they attack units with thorn ability.
However, sometime in Splinterlands battles, coming with the least expected meta can be the best tactic. The point of this post, most people are not expecting to have their opponent blindly attacking them with Melee during this rulest.
So on certain condition, going gang ho with Melee during Briar Patch can bring an unexpected winning. Ok let's get to the battle to show case this topic.
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
I pick this battle, because it fulfill the condition which I have mentioned above. here are the rulesets:
There is a super sneak ruleset there, which allow all melee units to be able to attack wherever they are set on. This way all melee units will be able to attack, however I believe they are not that simple. Most people will add a layer or two behind, incase they meet a player who doesn't read the ruleset well and goes with some melee.
So my melee units should be hard enough to break their defense, while they are taking damages from thorn. So those melee units should be a MEGA HITTER...
I bring Coastal Sentry and Arkemis The bear. They are good hitter, but good only are not enough. They should be great, a mega hitter. That's why I bring Janni Rebel, she has inspire that will add more melee damage to those two. Janni Rebel is also a good secondary tank, with 9 health point, she should not die soon.
My opponent is not bad too, he prepares incase his opppnent, who is me, comes with some melee units. Having Djinn Chwala is a great option, due to his large armor and high health point. So this is an interesting case, let see how this will go..
- The battle starts with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent. It can be said that their line up are full of mages, so I think I have the right tank there.
- They come with 14 melee damage, 3 range damage and 4 magic damage. Combined all they become 21 damage per round. It's a great fire power I have there.
- 14 melee damage from 2 units, this will be my core meta, and as expected, my team shoved out their Djinn Chwala in the first round.
- Round two starts with 5 vs 6 condition, however I think my team has made a big gap there. Their backline wall has been crushed, and on my side, we are still in full condition.
- As expected, my sneak melee team takes down another victim in this round
- ok now I believe my team has sealed the victory. They had two units with low health behind there, it would be an easy wipe out from my team.
- Amazingly they survive the third round however round 4 is the last. Good game
Why Melee Could Win In This Sea of Thorn
I can say a long words here but I will keep it simple. These are the point if you want to try this silly melee meta during briar patch and win
- Make sure your melee units can attack, either by their own abilities or due to other rulesets
- Don't be a half ass one, if you go with melee, go with mega damage, above 10 damage per round.
- Make sure your melee units are big guys, hard to be killed by thorn due to having thick armor or high health. Jared Scar might not feasible due to low health point.
- Use fast units, it's pain in the ass seeing your units with huge damage hits empty air, dodged.
