Yellow Splinterbuddies and Hivers! Weekend is up for this week and I wish you enjoy on what you set up. For this Social Media Challenge of Splinterlands I am going to share some of my point of views fighting a Melee battle. Let's explore how melee fights can be entertaining and what skills can be utilized.
So let's see an example battle mainly focusing on melee fights.

Rulesets:

So we have Deflection Field, Rise of the Commons and Up Close and Personal. The mana capacity is 31 which it will be considered, as for me, a medium mana battle. We were limited to Fire and Dragon splinters for this battle. Let us see what will be battle for this round.

My Team:

I chose to be much more defensive here with Lux Vega as my summoner boosting my team's health, speed and armor. Drybone Megaladon taking my tank postion for the reason it got a Flank ability to make my second monster unit to have a reach ability. Disintegrator, which i think the perfect card for my second position and providing a debuff of negative melee attack to my opponents team with its Demoralized skill. Tenyuu Striker is a great sneak offensive card that can also be a perfect back protector with Dodge skill to boot is in my third position monster. Completing my team is Dumacke Orc. Although this card just got a 1 health possesion, take note that it got a shield that is hard to penetrate and considering the battle is Melee, you cannot just extinguish its life until you destroyed its armor. My team is also form with the presence of Defelction Field to the ruleset and of course, my limited number of cards available which should be the number 1 reason. lol. Let us see how it goes.

The Battle:

Choosing Tarsa being the summoner of my rival's fire splinters, it shows that my opponent goes offensive with our battle. I got a bit of the edge on card levels here but he got the numbers, so lets see what will be the outcome for this melee fight.

Round 1 of the battle is where my team started to cut my opponents backline. As you can observe, most of my team monster units have Retaliate skill which is very helpful to my offense since i did not boost their attacking power. With every hit that my opponents team make to mine, they will a 50% chance to return back the attack. It's likely my monster team units doing a dual attack to my opponent's team if they are lucky.

Round 3 is where my team kicked out the tank on the opposing side. The backside of my team became sturdy because of the heal ability of Xenith Monk.

Round 5 is where the battle ends. The Retaliate skill was triggered most of the time so it fasten the offense of my team and took the win.

  • In every battle that you do in splinterlands, it is really important that you should take rulesets and what monster and summoner skills can compliment and become your upper hand. One more thing, if there are skills and boost that can become your upper hand playing the rulesets, there is also will be a fatal combinations which you should look for before sending your team on the battlefield.
