Greetings! HIVE-bees and splinterfolks! Engagement challenge time and we are focusing on how we are started or starting our journey in the Praetoria. A bit shy guy here who is gonna share my Splinter story but i will be honest that this topic is already been blogged on my old account. But fret not, that is few years back, and beside i restarted again with this account and made my old account became the alternate one. So I guess, I am not making a wrong thing right now. :P

My Splinterlands Discovery

Everything got it's starting point and I know that step can be considered the hardest one. How did I connect to splinterlands? Pandemic time of 2021 when its all begun. Lock down here in there were people are forced to stay at home here in Phil, browsing in the internet is what had introduced me in this game wherein i am searching for possible income. Play2earn are the thing's that are most enjoyable things, in my opinion at that time, so i search, read some articles and blog's regarding those play and earn possibilities. Splinterlands is not my first choice at that time but the game called Axie. But that time, it already requires a huge some of investment and money is the thing that i can never put in the game since our family income is only enough to sustain for our basic needs. And also, i am seeking for financial gain's not financial loses or savings. That's harsh truth of life so we really need to bear it to for the guys that really not that well off like me. So i stopped wasting time on Axie and moved to number 2 in the ranking, it is a site that ranks web3 games that time, Splinterlands. And that is where my $10 money web3 game investment story begun.

The Journey

When I was starting, well its a bit tough and got limited access to information. Since new guys tend to suffer to what they are doing, it did not diminished my motivation at first for few months. Yeah, those times where really a bit hard on as i remember it in playing splinterlands. Most of players are much more onto playing rather than sharing information. That is the essence of the game at that time where you win more, you gain more. You have to fight for the leaderboards to claim extra rewards which can be later convert to real world money and the amount is really worth it. With a period of practice and getting the hang of the game at that time, i consider my self to be a good player since i am almost tried to place in the leaderboard even i am just renting a few cards that is where my budget can achieved. I am also a multi account user, which I bought from other players that where quitting, or applied as an scholar player. But things always tend to change. With every time passes. Every new introduction and development happened in splinterlands really fast. Token value dropped, players became scarce and the game also started to become hard to gain something back to a guy that only time investment can afford like me. But still, I am playing the game and keeping track on what development is happening on the game. Maybe it already became part of life that i daily check the little things i gain to the game from the time when i started. Before i am thinking that this will be my ticket to richness but i am glad that i already woke up to that fantasy. lol.

Reasons for Staying in Splinterlands

To become a legend maybe? lol, Nah! probably an Epic but Legend? forget it. I am too poor to invest in the game financially right now so my time is the only way that i can invest to play the game. Its true that it really needed not just time but also assets to play the game to gain something back and we can say, enjoy it. Yep, got some assets that i can consider at least "can play status" in the game at the moment. I also have the ability to pay for the rentals that i am using right now to do ranked battles in diamond league at most and guild brawl battles. So i could say, that i am still a player that runs 3 accounts that are claiming something back for the continuation of my SPLINTER-VICE. lol. But i am currently playing mostly on Ranked battles. It is not that i dont see any potentials on the other features of the game, but what i learned is that you must focus building something first that can support your other plans. If i simply put it, I am focusing on building my deck first's before maybe proceeding to other features. This is my game style and where i found happiness playing the game that kept me stay here in splinterlands. With that, I hope you find your reasons too to still enjoy the game.
