Hugo Strongsword Decorative Pendant Quilling Technique [Eng-Esp]

Today I am with you again to show you my art, I love every week to go through this wonderful world of magic, color, and lots of Splinterlands characters to look for new elements or characters to build different crafts such as jewelry, accessories, 3D figures and other things that motivate me, inspire me and activate my creativity and thus be able to create for you.

Today I'm joining the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!. I bring you a new piece of art. I wanted to make a decorative pendant inspired by an element from the card, Hugo Strongsword using the quilling technique. I was very struck by the beautiful protective shield that the character holds in his hands, so I decided to bring it to life.

Hola a toda mi gente de Hive... 🐱

Hoy estoy con ustedes nuevamente para mostrarles mi arte, me encanta semana a semana pasar por ese maravilloso mundo de magia, color, y muchísimos personajes de Splinterlands para buscar nuevos elementos o personajes para construir diversas manualidades bien sean bisutería, accesorios, figuras en 3D entre otras cosas que me motiven, inspiren y activen mi creatividad y de esa manera poder crear para ustedes.

Para hoy me uno al Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!. les traigo un nuevo trabajo de arte, quise realizar un Colgante decorativo inspirado en un elemento de la carta, Hugo Strongsword en la técnica de quilling, me llamo mucho la atención el bello escudo protector que posee el personaje en sus manos, y por eso decidí materializarlo.

• To begin the project, I cut black and white strips from cardstock of both colors, according to the required measurements.

• We started by taking 3mm wide black ribbon, winding it around the needle until we reached the end, and forming a circle wide enough for the shield. We sealed it with extra-strong white glue. Without removing the circle from the needle, we continued with 4mm wide white ribbon, winding it until it formed a not-so-thick strip. Before finishing with the tape, add a jewelry ring, finish winding the white tape, seal with glue, remove from the needle, and you will have a closed combined circle.

• Take the circle and apply several coats of gold metallic paint around it. Let it dry thoroughly. Take a piece of white cardstock and paint it the same color.

• Once the pieces are dry, cut out the piece of cardstock as shown in the image and glue it in the center of the circle.

• Para comenzar el trabajo procedí a cortar tiras de color blanco y negro de una cartulina de ambos colores, según la medida requerida.

• Iniciamos tomando cinta de color negra de 3mm de ancho, enrollamos en la aguja hasta llegar al final de la misma, y formar un círculo lo suficientemente ancho para el escudo, sellamos con pega blanca extra fuerte, sin sacar el circulo de la aguja continuamos con cinta de color blanco de 4mm de ancho, enrollamos hasta formar una franja no tan gruesa, antes de terminar con la cinta incorporamos una argolla de bisutería, terminamos de enrollar la cinta blanca, sellamos con pega sacamos de la aguja, obteniendo un círculo cerrado combinado.

• Tomamos el círculo y alrededor vamos a aplicar varias capas de pintura metalizada color oro, dejamos secar muy bien, además tomamos un trozo de cartulina blanca y también pintamos del mismo color.

• Al estar secas las piezas, recortamos el trozo de cartulina tan y como pueden ver en la imagen, pegamos en el centro del círculo.

• Now we are going to make a small closed circle in black using 1 mm wide tape. We will stick this to the center of the gold piece, applying a layer of extra-strong white glue.

• I took some pearl-colored paint and applied a few small details to the gold part of the circle, then let it dry.

• To decorate, place a white half-pearl in the center to make the pendant more eye-catching.

• To finish, attach a small pendant made of thick black snakeskin, with its respective ring and parrot-beak clasp.

• And now we have finished this decorative pendant, inspired by the shield carried by the character in the card “Hugo Strongsword”.

• Ahora vamos a realizar un pequeño círculo cerrado de color negro con cinta de 1mm de ancho, este lo pegaremos del centro de la pieza color oro, apliqué una capa de pega blanca extra fuerte.

• Tomé pintura color perlada y apliqué unos pequeños detalles en la parte color oro de la circunferencia, dejamos secar.

• Para decorar coloque en el centro una media perla de color blanca, esto para darle mayor vistosidad al colgante.

• Para finalizar enganche un pequeño colgante elaborado con piel de serpiente negra gruesa, con su respectiva argolla y trancadero pico de loro.

• De esta manera tenemos listo este colgante decorativo que elabore, inspirado en el escudo que lleva en sus manos el personaje de la carta "Hugo Strongsword".
