Surprises in the Splinterlands: Why You Too Should Play

In my last post, I talked about getting ready for my sixth Brawl and the strategies I planned to use. Today, I’m excited to share the results and the surprises I encountered while playing.

Join me as I explore the outcomes of my matches, highlight some standout moments, and discuss how these surprises can inspire newcomers to the game.

Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn

Our guild finished in second place this time, earning 21.68 SPS, which is slightly lower than our previous winnings.

During the Brawls, I faced unexpected challenges that tested my strategies and deepened my understanding of the game. I learned that it’s crucial not to underestimate my opponents.

I was eager to win and assumed my opponent would make a mistake. Unfortunately, that assumption led to a costly error on my part, costing me a perfect game.

Lesson Learned: Respect Every Opponent

Regardless of their ranking or past performance, every opponent deserves respect. They may have skills or strategies that can surprise you, and dismissing them can lead to unexpected outcomes.

Surprises!

Despite the setback, there’s still plenty to celebrate in Splinterland. In this Brawl, I earned enough merits to buy a Gladius Case which I immediately opened.

Rewards and Returns

In my last post, I mentioned that I raised my stakes. While I didn’t hit my DEC target, I did acquire them in the form of in-game assets, as shown in the video below.

These assets will open up new opportunities within the game, maximizing my potential returns and ultimately leading to greater rewards.

Now, I’m excited to share the surprise I discovered when I opened the packs!

Since you already have a hive account, you can play "ghost" cards. Those are the default cards in Splinterlands. You can earn "Glints" which you can use to buy items in the Rewards Shop.

(Edited)

There are so much more in Splinterlands. You can purchase a spell book which would allow you to buy cards. In as much as I would love to have my own referral for the Ambassador's program, there are other players who have much better offers like @rollingotb @bulldog1205 @bravetofu

As they say, there are no mistakes, only lessons :) Thanks for sharing what you learned from your battles. Much like in real life, we should never underestimate anyone, even ourselves :)

All the best in your game!
