Rising Star - Lvl 69 Achieved and How to Keep Ego Down

I have noticed that several beginners playing Rising Star do not know very much about "EGO". I have not a pro but I love Rising Star and want to share what I have learned along the way.

EGO

Ego will be a problem for any Rising Star unless it is kept in check. There are several ways to keep it in check but the simplest is to run Music Lessons.

Ego increases when you have more fans than skills. It easily happens when you get additional cards that have more fans than skill.

I purchase a pack of cards each week. This week, I received a rare card with 125 Fans but only 75 Skill. This card will increase my Ego unless I do something about it.

FAQ section

There is a FAQ section on Rising Star with a lot of useful information. I know most people do not read this information. They want to figure out the game by themselves until they get to a point they need help.

The Ego section provides more detail about handling Ego with Music Lessons and to get Instrument cards to help increase the number of Skill points earned from Music Lessons.

Music Lessons

I run at least one or two Music Lessons per day to help control my ego. There are several Music Lessons to chose from:

• Basic Singing Lesson
• Guitar Lesson
• Orchestral Lesson
• Production Lesson
• Piano Lesson
• Drum Lesson
• Road Crew Lesson

The two I run the most are Drum Lesson (13 to 26 skill points) and Basic Singing Lesson (12 to 23 skill points).

Increase Skill Point Max

To increase the max skill points you can earn each time you run a Music Lesson but adding various instruments to you card collection.

You might say they are two expense and that you would rather focus on people cards. However I have found some very cheap instrument cards that should be added to everyone's collection.

Inexpensive Instruments

There are two cards that you can get for 225 Starbits or less. This will help increase your max skill points for running Music Lessons. Doing this you will not need to run the Music Lessons as often providing you more time to run other missions which will help you earn more starbits in the long run.

Weekly Progress

To be able to tell if you are making any progress toward anything you set out to do is to record your starting position and then periodically measure how far you have progressed since your last measurement.

I have been playing Rising Star consistently since the first of 2022. It helps me to track my progress so that I can see what areas may need additional attention.

I dropped out of the top 1000, sitting at 1023. I need to see if I can consistently be under 1000.

Ranking: 1023 (-178)

Current Stats

I am slowing increasing all of my stats. All my drunk fans woke up helping to drop my ego down. I am working on running more music lessons each and every day to increase my skill points.

Fans: 2715 (+120)
Ego: 6% (-2)
Skill: 5901 (+380)
Luck: 526 (+7)
IM: 44 (+2)

My level is now 69, only 6 away from the next major milestone. At level 75, several new missions open up to the player. I can't wait to be able to start working on all the new things that are in store at and above that level.

I received the standard rare and two common in my pack.
i77 Juicy Orange Guitar - 1 Luck
i81 Busker R10 - 5 Luck
R188 Nytehawker - 125 Fans, 75 Skill, 3 Luck and 2 IM

Only the rare card is unique for me - R188 Nytehawker. I have found that unique cards help with my ranking more than just getting duplicate cards. The instruments will help to increase the max skill points I receive from music lessons.
