Social Media Challenge: Surly Drunk [EN - ESP]
Here we are again with the Social Media Challenge of this incredibly hot, at least where I live, week of August. Summer is slipping through our fingers, and to combine the heat of real life with Splinterlands, today I bring you one of the legendary cards from the hottest deck in the game: the fire deck. Analysis of an interesting drunken saurian who, if you haven't read the title of this article, with this clue you already know who it is: Surly Drunk. The battle I'm bringing you has yielded especially well, and therefore deserves a good analysis to discover or see another approach to this cheap and very playable card. Se nos escapa el verano entre los dedos y para conjugar el calor de la vida real con Splinterlands hoy os traigo una de las cartas legendarias del mazo más caliente del juego: el de fuego. Análisis de un interesante saurio borracho que, si no has leído el título de este artículo, con esta pista ya sabes de quien se trata: Surly Drunk. Y es que la batalla que te traigo ha rendido especialmente bien y, por ello, se merece un buen análisis para descubrir o ver otro enfoque de esta carta barata y muy jugable. This week's card belongs to the saurian family. If you're an avid Genshin Impact player, I should inform you that it's not a Natlan saurian, and you won't be seeing Varessa or Ifá in this analysis, although they could very well be Splinterlands cards. Once I've finished referring to a console and PC game, I'll tell you that Surly Drunk, in addition to belonging to the saurian race, is an avid consumer of the lowest-quality beer. The card's design couldn't be more fitting for the name given to our beloved saurian. The image of a kind of crocodile, quite plump and with a huge mug of beer from any medieval tavern, does justice to the name Surly Drunk. However, the card is so interesting that even drunk, he can do us good in combat.
La carta de esta semana pertenece a la familia de los saurios. Si eres un ávido jugador de Genshin Impact debo informarte que no es un saurio de Natlan y no vas a ver en este análisis a Varessa ni a Ifá, aunque perfectamente podrían ser cartas de Splinterlands. Una vez acabada la referencia a un juego de consolas y pc te voy a contar que Surly Drunk, además de pertenecer a la raza sauria, es un ávido consumidor de cerveza de la más baja calidad. El diseño de la carta no podías ser más adecuado al nombre que se le dió a nuestro querido saurio. Y es que la imagen de una especie de cocodrilo, bien gordito y con una enorme jarra de cerveza de cualquier taberna medieval le hace justicia al nombre de Surly Drunk. Sin embargo, la carta es tan intersante que incluso borracho nos puede hacer un buen apaño en combate.
Our beloved Surly Drunk is a legendary rarity card from the Fire deck. It doesn't stand out for its special abilities or its excessive power, but rather for its extremely low summoning cost, which makes it suitable for almost any scenario and performs especially well in low-to-medium mana battles. At its first level, it provides one point of melee attack, two points of speed, and two points of vitality. In addition, at its first level, Surly Drunk has the special ability Opportunity, making it an exceptional and very useful card. Its four evolution levels will improve each basic ability by a total of one point, although it won't gain a second special ability. This isn't a problem; it's still very useful and necessary in low-mana battles.
Nuestro querido Surly Drunk es una carta de rareza legendaria del mazo de fuego. No destaca por sus habilidades especiales ni por su excesivo poder sino, todo lo contrario, por su escasísimo coste de invocación que nos puede cuadrar en casi cualquier escenario y que rinde especialmente bien en batallas de maná bajo-medio. En su primer nivel aporta un punto de ataque cuerpo a cuerpo, dos de velocidad y una vitalidad de dos puntos también. Además, cuenta ya en su primer nivel con la habilidad especial Opportunity lo que convierte a Surly Drunk en una carta excepcional y muy útil. Sus cuatro niveles de evolución van a hacer que mejore, en total, un punto en cada habilidad básica aunque no obtendrá una segunda habilidad especial. No es un problema, sigue siendo muy útil y necesario en batallas de bajo maná.
A battle with 27 mana available for summoning and only Fire and Death decks. This already makes things difficult for me, given that my most developed decks are Water and Earth. Batalla con 27 puntos de maná disponible para invocar y solo mazos de fuego y muerte. Esto ya me pone las cosas dificiles al ser agua y tierra mis mazos más desarrollados. Sin embargo, vamos a poner una alineación competitiva en una batalla en la que aparecen como condiciones especiales Up Close & Personal, Ferocity y Armored Up. As you may have anticipated, dear reader and connoisseur of the game's intricacies, Surly Drunk is not a finisher, nor is it valid or usable in battles with a lot of available summoning mana. Those battles are reserved for the game's big whales, and I'm not just talking about Baakjira, wink wink. It's a card whose playability and power are inversely proportional to the amount of available mana offered by the battle in question. It shines most in battles with little mana, as its cost of a single mana point and its Opportunity ability, which allows it to attack from any position, make this legendary card an almost obligatory option in the strategy we plan for each case. It's true that it only provides one point of damage, but it attacks in every round of combat regardless of the position in which we place it, and it barely commits a single mana point. In short, an essential card in battles with low summoning mana and one that we have to forget about in scenarios with greater availability.
Como ya habrás anticipado querido lector y a la vez conocedor de los entresijos del juego, Surly Drunk no es un finisher ni es válido o utilizable en batallas de mucho maná de invocación disponible. Esas batallas están reservadas para las grandes ballenas del juego y no hablo solo de Baakjira, guiño guiño. Es una carta que tiene una jugabilidad y un poder inversamente proporcional a la cantidad de maná disponible que nos ofrezca la batalla en cuestión. En batallas con poco maná es en las que brilla más pues su coste de un solo punto de maná y su habilidad Opportunity que le permiten atacar desde cualquier posición convierten a esta carta legendaria en una opción casi obligatoria en la estrategia que planteemos para cada caso. Bien es cierto que solo aporta un punto de daño, pero ataca en todas las rondas del combate independientemente de la posición en la que la coloquemos y apenas nos compromete un punto de maná. Resumiendo, una carta imprescindible en batallas de escaso maná de invocación y de la que nos tenemos que olvidar en escenarios de mayor disponibilidad.
