Sakura Anime Garden 2025: A Magical Celebration of Anime at Gardens by the Bay
It's an exciting weekend here in the city—at least for the Otakus!
It's that time of the year when Gardens by the Bay hosts the Sakura Anime Garden! It’s an event that I believe every generation can relate to. From the oldies to the young ones, we’ve all had that phase in life when we watched anime and became obsessed with a particular show or character.
Are you an '80s, '90s, or present-day anime enthusiast? This is the perfect opportunity to showcase your love for anime by dressing up as your favorite character! But if you're just a fan like me, it's also a great time to visit the Gardens and see which anime characters are trending right now.
So today, I headed to the Gardens to check out the event and see what activities are lined up for this year's Anime Garden!
Aside from the anime booths and food trucks, the main highlight of the event is the live concert held at the Supertree Grove area. The event started at 2:00 PM and will run until 10:00 PM today. Arriving at 5:00 PM means the event is only halfway through, with plenty of performances still to come!
Food trucks and fun activities!
There is a large open space next to the Supertree Grove that has become a designated area for cosplayers to hold their photography sessions. I'm not entirely sure if it's a paid gig for them, but I noticed that they are accompanied by a photographer who takes their photos. I assume that anyone who wants to take a picture with them may need to pay or purchase the photo.
It’s an amazing event, and as much as I’d love to stay until closing time, the rain is about to pour over the city. I’d rather not get stuck in the Gardens at night, so I decided to cut my visit short and head home for dinner!
Overall, the Sakura Anime Garden was a fantastic experience, bringing together anime fans of all ages to celebrate their favorite characters and shows. From vibrant cosplayers to exciting performances, the event truly captured the spirit of anime culture. While I had to leave earlier than planned, I’m already looking forward to next year’s event and all the surprises it will bring!
I've never seen an event like this before, they weren't particularly big in England and definitely aren't popular in Georiga/Armenia. Looks like a lot of fun to attend and get a fun variety of portraits. I know I'd spend hours there just talking to people and shooting things.
After attending this event, I felt like there are plenty of people who likes animes and wearing cosplays too. Must be fans of anime 😁 and me too!
But I'm only here for the concert and to take photos as well.
Yeah! I always wanted to go to the bigger events that are in the US, even something like E3 but they killed that off for good after the pandemic.
I've stumbled into so many odd environments purely because of my camera in the past. But they've always been so fun, it can be really cool to see how people interact with you when you have a camera. They'll talk to you about things, or pose for you without you even asking. Even for building some connections and getting a photography portfolio going, it's great.
The cosplayers don't really pay attention to as I'm only taking photos using a phone. But whenever a professional photographer is around then they pose with full effort 😁
what? I wish to be here! 😭
It's a 2-day event until tomorrow 😁, you can still make it.
Too far from home so I really can't 😭 Maybe next time!
Oh, yeah this a yearly event so you may time your visit during this month 😀
Oh wow, the event looks like an anime lover’s entire dream. Cosplay, concerts and food, my favorite by the way, and trucks, what more could I want 😢🥹😍 Wish I could be there to see all the amazing costumes in person
True! As an anime fan myself, I really enjoyed attending this event 😁
Wow man what a day 😍
Thats a cool celebration, and the cosplayers looks great.
Yeah, they really put good effort into their costumes 👍
It was a fun event 😁
I've always loved these events. Here were I live they aren't very common and it's been a while since the last one was done. I wish they do another one soon .
This one seems was fun.
It's a unique experience and so I like going to events like this as well 😁
I hope I can go to Sakura Anime Garden someday 😊
😁👍

Nice. Didn't knew it happened recently. Such events do have weird guys lurking trying to get close to cosplayers too
The event is in progress and last day should be today :)
