My Splinterlands Beginner’s Experience 📜🐉
🐉 My First Week in Splinterlands: From Noob to Battle-Ready ⚔️
created using Sora
I’ve been playing a lot of battles in Splinterlands since I jumped in a week ago, and I can honestly say that the more I play, the more I’m loving the game. 🛡️
I think my eagerness to learn more about the mechanics, the cards, the rule sets, and even how to manage mana 🔮 is what fuels my motivation to keep playing. For me, these are the kinds of things that make a game truly great — and why I believe Splinterlands is destined for success in this space.
💖 Why I Want Splinterlands to Succeed
Personally, I want Splinterlands to succeed because its victory would also mean a win for Hive 🐝 and the amazing community supporting this game.
I hope more people join in too. Some think it takes a huge investment to start… but in reality, it doesn’t.
Others believe it’s hard to learn, but I’m here to say it isn’t. All you really need is a strong foundation:
- 🧠 Knowledge about the game
- 🃏 Foundation Cards for your battles 😜
🪄 Foundation Cards & Costs
Here’s the good news: You can earn foundation cards for free through Campaign Mode. No purchase needed.
The only real cost is the Spellbook, which you’ll need to play in the Frontier and Modern formats.
💰 Price: Just $10 — super reasonable for what you get!
🗡️ My Starter Tips for New Players
If you already have a Hive account, you can use it to play. Simply log in through Keychain (same process as with other Hive apps).
1️⃣ Start with Campaign Adventure 🎯
The Campaign is not part of Ranked Battle formats, but it’s crucial for learning the game.
During the Campaign, you’ll get:
- 📜 A taste of the game’s history
- 🃏 Insights into cards and summoners
- ⚔️ Battle basics and mechanics
⚠️ My Rookie Mistake
In my case, I made the mistake of stopping halfway through Campaign Mode because I thought I knew enough and could just wing it.
❌ Big mistake.
Many of the later lessons cover advanced strategies and battle technicalities that can make or break your matches.
Lesson learned: Finish the Campaign before diving into Frontier or Modern battles. 🛡️🐉
🔥 So there you have it — my first-hand experience and starting tips to help you on your own Splinterlands journey. Whether you’re here for the strategy, the lore, or just the thrill of battle, there’s so much to enjoy… and I can’t wait to keep learning, fighting, and growing my collection.
See you in the arena! ⚔️🐲

Thanks for the guild support! 💪 Appreciate it.
I did the campaign battles the other day too. I've been sitting on the spellbook and some beta cards I was given when the game launched but just never really got into it. It's nice that the game actually has a bit of a tutorial now, I think that was one of the main reasons I never did check out the gameplay side and mostly stuck to the rentals
I can relate! The tutorial really makes a big difference now. It’s a great way to ease into the gameplay.

It is a good training ground and also you get a nice pool of foundation cards to kickstart journey!
Exactly! The campaign really sets you up with a good foundation... I wish I hadn’t skipped halfway at first. 😅
