NO MAGIC, JUST MAYHEM - How I DOMINATE 'Up Close & Personal' Brawls

Alright, let's dive headfirst into the glorious, chaotic mess that is the "Up Close & Personal" ruleset. You know the one, melee-only madness. And for me, that just screams one beautifully simple, yet devastating truth, NO MAGIC. NONE. Zero zip zilch. You won't catch me flinging fireballs when I can just go full mosh pit.

And honestly, I'm sure you know the feeling. When you're staring down that "Up Close & Personal" ruleset in a brawl, your brain just disconnects from anything remotely magical. It's like, "Oh, so we're just going to beat the living crap out of each other? FINE. Let's get the biggest damn hammers we can find."

So, my strategy, which, let's be real, is probably floating around in a bunch of your heads too, is simple, big hitters, stack the living hell out of the armor, and then just keep on repairing that shit. It’s like a battlefield pit crew, constantly patching up the dents while the brawl rages.

Now, my go-to guy Archon for this particular flavor of mayhem? Conqueror Jacek. And before you roll your eyes, yes, I know, everyone loves Jacek. But for good reason, okay? That piercing damage? NUT-SACK. It’s glorious. And the +2 speed on top of that? Just chef’s kiss. It's funny because my opponent in this particular rumble clearly had the same idea, which, honestly, just made it all the more satisfying when my strategy worked.

Let's talk lineup – because this is where the magic (the real magic, not that wand-waving nonsense) happens.

First up, the absolute tank: Ferox Defender. This dude is built for "Up Close & Personal." Like, the Splinterlands dev team knew. Protect? Check. Repair? Double check. Shatter? OH HELL YES. He’s basically an armored brick wall designed to piss off your opponent.

Right behind him, the trusty sidekick: Junker. Reach and Repair. He’s the unsung hero, the guy who keeps Ferox on his feet, patching him up while the blows rain down.

Then we get to the heavy artillery. Third spot, the legend himself: Mordeus. Opportunity and Stun. And look, I don’t even need to tell you about that massive 7 melee attack. He just walks around the battlefield, stunned enemies in his wake, looking for anyone who dares to have low health.

Fourth in line, the absolute wild card, the one who brings the unexpected carnage: Fina Voxom. Opportunity and Bloodlust. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “A gladius card? Really?” YES. EVEN AT BASE LEVEL. This gladius card is disgustingly OP when that bloodlust kicks in, and trust me, it does. She starts munching on enemies, stats boosting like crazy, and suddenly you've got a solo act tearing through the enemy team.

Fifth spot, the sneaky assassin who brings the pain from unexpected angles: Tenyii Striker. Sneak, Dodge, and (my personal favorite) Backfire. With 5 melee damage, he’s no slouch. He just pops up, slaps someone in the back, and watches them explode.

And finally, anchoring the whole damn thing, the heavy hitter, the slow but steady rock: Tusk the Wide. Void and Inspire. Yeah, he’s slow, like trying to run through molasses slow. But that Inspire? That’s what we want. That boosts everyone else’s damage, turning a good team into a terrifying death squad. And let's not forget his massive 14 health. He’s a big, stubborn wall that just won’t quit.

Watch the Battle Here

The battle itself? Played out exactly as hoped. Like a well-oiled machine. There was so much armor repair happening it looked like a robot repair shop. Ferox just tanked, Junker kept him alive, and the rest of the crew started chipping away. But seriously, Fina Voxom? She was the star of the show. That gladius got some kills, bloodlust started stacking, and suddenly she was a one-woman wrecking crew, boasting stats and doing most of the damn damage. She's hilarious.

So yeah, "Up Close & Personal." No magic needed. Just pure, unadulterated melee brawling. Sometimes, the simplest strategies are the most effective. Especially when you’re just trying to beat the crap out of everything.

Oh, and speaking of not-so-mild success stories, this little brawling masterpiece actually just went down in our latest guild brawl. Guess who's the favorite "Brawl Bro" in the Discord right now? Yeah, that's right. The guild's been blowing up my DMs, practically crowning me the new Jacek for pulling off wins like that. Sometimes, you just gotta remind everyone who the big dawg is when chaos hits the battlefield, amirite @bearone.

Finding good online casinos that work with Cardano (ADA) used to be frustrating. Many platforms still don't support it directly, which made me constantly convert to other tokens — losing time and money. Fortunately ADA Crypto Gambling solves that. It lists legitimate online casinos where you can deposit, play, and withdraw using Cardano with minimal fuss. The site also explains which casinos offer low transaction fees, fast withdrawals, and reliable security. For ADA holders who want to gamble with their coins directly, this is the most up-to-date and helpful resource I’ve seen so far.
