Dragon's Breath? More Like Dragon's Barbecue My Scattershot Splinterlands Sanity Check

Yo, my fellow Splinterlands degens! Let's talk about a team so crazy, so off-the-rails, it just might work. I'm having trouble squeezing out these posts lately because the new guild overhaul is coming and all me and my guild mates from the "Drop Bears" guild can talk about is that! I keep thinking what I am going to add to the new guild is even more crazy line ups like this one.
Anyways.
I had a battle the other day with a ruleset so insane, it actually got my synapses firing. We're talking "Dragon's Breath" when ranged and magic attacks apply Burning. Okay, okay, on paper, it sounds kinda meh. I mean, who even cares about Burning these days? Turns out I do, apparently.
Here's the thing that got me going" What if we fully embraced the chaos and just ran scattershot madness? Forget aiming for the enemy tank, let's light up the whole damn enemy team! Turns out, it's nuts. Absolutely bonkers. Especially when paired with the fastest tank in the game rocking Backfire and, like, never even getting hit.
So, buckle up, because we're about to dive deep into the beautiful garbage fire that is my Splinterlands brain.
The Lineup
Okay, so here's the absolute madness I cooked up. The goal? Maximize speed, spread the burn to oblivion, and watch the enemy team melt faster than my brain on a Tuesday.
Rules Sets: 41 Mana, Close Range, Dragon's Breath, Trample
- Comment: 41 mana, just enough to make things spicy. The Trample rule just added an extra layer.
Summoner: Conqueror Jacek (+2 Speed, Scattershot, Piercing)
- Comment: This summoner is the KEY to the whole damn thing. The +2 speed is crucial, obviously, to get the first-mover advantage and spread that sweet, sweet burn. Scattershot turns our magic and ranged into unpredictable fire hoses. And Piercing? Hey, might as well add a little extra sting to the chaos. Honestly this is one of my favirote summoners if you notice almost all the monsters I used are either range or magic which is good.
Tank: Continuum Seer (Phase, Backfire)
- Comment: I debated this one for a minute. I could have brought a true tank, but I wanted to leverage the Seer's blistering speed. With a base speed of 8, if the team hadn't had a bunch of speed-up shenanigans. Phase is just icing on the cake, making her even harder to hit.
Support: Scavo Chemist (Cleanse, Slow, Headwinds)
- Comment: The Chemist might seem like an odd man out here, but the Slow debuff is a HUGE deal. Slowing the enemy down means our whole team gets more chances to go first, and that directly translates to more burning. The other abilites came in handy too, if i had been facing poison or death or something.
Buffer 1: Ujurak Elder (Camouflage, Divine Shield , Strengthen, Swiftness)
- Comment: Now we are cooking with gas! Look, at all, that buff. The camoflage is nice because he wont get hit, The devine shield can protect him from one hit killed. Swiftness is key.
Damage Dealer 1: Sorriel the Bale (Double Strike (Magic), Blind, Rust)
- Comment: Here's where things get truly evil. Double strike magic with scattershot? Now we're talking! Two blasts of burning chaos, hitting random targets with both strikes. Plus, Blind and Rust? A perfect storm of debuffs. He is pretty cheap for what he can do.
Damage Dealer 2: Supply Runner (Swiftness, Strengthen)
- Comment: We need even more speed, this guy is key. We want to max out how fast the entire team is!
Damage Dealer 3: Countess Sinash (Camouflage, Swiftness, Opportunity, Affliction, Blast)
- Comment: High damage dealer in the back with camo so they dont get hit, she is set for massive damage as the team is melting.
The Battle

Okay, so, here's how this beautiful disaster unfolded:
The battle starts, and Conqueror Jacek does his thing, cranking up the speed of my whole squad. My chemist slows them down so here we go again! With all the Swiftness abilities active, the Chemist putting the breaks on, my whole team is off to the races. Sinash did take a hit, but she came in full force anyway.
The Countess manages to melt the weak monsters and spreads a blast, Now it becomes every monster for themself! I get the healing and speed off now everyone is starting to feel the pain of the burn! As the Seer gets targeted the opponent feels the pain of backfire! More burning and more pain. Everyone on their side is hurting.
I took another hiy to the backline but they are all burning and in short order, and the enemy crumbles like a house of cards in the wind. Not a single loss, and they barely managed to scratch my lineup. I think, clearly, this team could do more damage in the correct spots as my team was very spread out. I also did almost no healing which usually occurs
Conclusion
Do I need to start playing survival mode more? Probably, but that's another post for another day I'm sure you know the feeling. This team isn't for the faint of heart, and honestly, it's probably not the most consistent strategy out there. But when it works? Oh, big, big, beautiful, chaotic fun.

Excellent battle, ctrpch! This wasn't an easy one: Possibilus with +2 health and two units with triage made it clear your opponent was prepared to mitigate the burn damage. Even so, you managed to win with an interesting strategy: surrendering to the chaos of ranged attacks that Jaceck provides! I hadn't thought of that, a brilliant strategy! Best regards.
