Resident Evil 6 Review
After playing Resident Evil 4 I had to try out Resident Evil 6. Resident Evil 6 is a survival horror game that was released in 2012. Overall, the game received mixed reviews from critics upon release and it is generally considered to be a less successful entry in the Resident Evil series when compared to Resident Evil 4.
One of the main criticisms of Resident Evil 6 is that it strays too far from the survival horror roots of the series. The game is much more action-oriented than previous entries, with a greater emphasis on gunplay and larger set pieces. This shift in focus led some players to feel that the game was not as tense or atmospheric as earlier Resident Evil games. Another issue with Resident Evil 6 is that it is a very long game, with four separate campaigns that can be played in any order. While this may appeal to some players, others found the length of the game to be a bit overwhelming and felt that the story was unnecessarily complicated.
While Resident Evil 6 is a competent action game, it is not quite as successful as a survival horror game. When compared to Resident Evil 4, which is widely regarded as a classic of the genre, it falls short in terms of atmosphere, storytelling, and overall polish. If you are a fan of the Resident Evil series and are looking for a more action-oriented experience, you may still enjoy Resident Evil 6, but it is not the best entry in the series.
With that being said I was impressed with the game on Switch. The game runs smoothly on the Switch and the controls feel natural on the handheld console. One of the standout features of the Switch is the inclusion of motion controls, which added an extra layer of immersion to the game. The gyroscopic aiming works well and helps to make the gunplay feel more precise. It also helps I only paid $9.99 for the game.
I think I would get too scared playing these types of games. I remember playing HalfLife back in the day and I about had a heart attack a couple times while playing it! I did enjoy the Fallout games when I played them. I have never played any of the Resident Evil games. I am actually surprised there has been that many of them!
There are a few jump scares which is kind of fun if you are playing late at night. Other than that they are actually not that bad. I have had a good time playing them. I never really played much fallout I was more a halo and metal gear solid kind of guy back in the day.
I only played halo once and I sucked at it!
It was the only game I was actually kind of good at. We played a lot in high school.
The game is almost the most infamous of the saga, I liked it, but I agree that it was far away from what is a survival horror, besides, the story is not so complicated, tedious to understand maybe, but it is not so complicated, I'm really grateful that it has been so extensive.
It's not my favorite the game play is more exciting but that's about it. I see there is a new set of online games I might check out, but I'm still trying to understand the new model.
I got to play Resident Evil 6 on the XBOX360 console, and it was great, but I could never finish all the stories because the CD was damaged, now I have the opportunity to play it on my computer, I just have it in queue.
I like all the different stories! I think RE6 will keep me busy for a while as I play though them all.
One of my least favorite Resident Evil, although I think it is more enjoyable in co-op mode. I remember when it was originally released, I was looking forward to it and in the end I was quite disappointed by its disastrous action sequences 😅.
The opening action sequence was so off putting and set the game up for cheap thrills vs story and character development. I need to find someone to play co-op with me.
Horror games are not for me. They easily get me scared 😔
Most people hated it but I loved the multi player co-op thing they had with this game, it was one if not the best gameplay I ever had in a split screen game about zombies, big hug and thank you for bring back those memories :)
