My first week of Splinterforge/How to start

In this post, we will take a look at my beginnings in Splinterforge, to be more exact:

1. How I started.
2. What would I change about my approach.
3. First week breakdown.

I`m sure that by now all of you know about Splinterforge, game that allows you to utilize your Splinterlands assets in yet another way. At the same time, you are well aware of a fact, that Splinterforge offers unique playing experience, during which you get to open/buy/sell/use Forge-specific assets/NFT-s too.

Yes. That`s how I started. I chose gamblers approach, rushed on tribal dex, bought some FORGE and used it in in-game shop. Since I bought 50 crates with single transaction, I got 5 for free (bonus is higher than 10% with larger bulk buys).
That left me with limited funds for p2p market which can be found on Splex.gg.

Anyway, I still had enough FORGE for elite iron gauntlets, legendary hands item, which I snacked for around 18k-20k FORGE, at that time close to 5$.

I also bought some "sockets"/gems that can be used to enchant/add stats or unique abilities to your gear.

Then I opened my crates ...

... and legendary bow seemed sweet! Which lead me to chose Ranger as my "main" hero. I even got him that sweet sweet damage gem.

Looking back, I certainly lost some value by gambling on crates, but even bigger problem than getting only 2 legendaries in 55 crates is lack of liquidity on market. Selling excess items proved to be bigger challenge than I expected. Even though I managed to sell some rare/epic items, others (especially commons and almost "useless" gems) are gathering dust sitting on shelves.
To solve that problem I gambled yet again.

I forged some commons into rares, some rare items into epic ones ... and believe it or not, my luck improved!
Even though chance of getting gold item while reforging is only 10%, I managed to get few, which proved easier to sell.

Now, when it comes to playing, I tried silver, gold and diamond boss, but latter proved to be too strong for my relatively under-equipped hero. On the other hand, since my SL cards are mostly maxed out, I quickly discovered that gold boss is the best for my level of playing.

With my two best buddies: Lily and Jacek, we managed to craft a strategy to deal 1,1k to 1,2k dmg per battle.

After getting used to playing, I bought my first GFL for 15$ only (I used earnings + new funds), which is way below current floor! I got myself Elite hearty leggins which are wearable on all three heroes (even though I mainly play only ranger).

My stats aren`t shiny yet, but even though I made some mistakes by rushing into buying crates/investing into RF gear, I feel like I'm finally on the right track.
In first week I earned around 30-40k FORGE, which is currently (under)priced at around 7-9$, but I feel I can do even better next week by focusing on only one Boss, buying GF gear and adding sockets by burning hard earn Electrum.
