The Pixelmon Rugpull: Criminals Flee with $70 Million Dollars in ETH
Pixelmon raised approximately $70,000,000 in ETH.
They rugged buyers and then went on a shopping spree, picking up BAYCs and other valuable Opensea NFTs to pad their wallets. After buyers saw the 3D assets were purchased from a Unity 3D marketplace, the fraudsters posted an apology, claiming they intend to spend $2 million on recreating assets (actual purpose: smokescreen; to placate victims and slow down their pursuit with lawsuits and/or criminal complaints to authorities against Pixelmon criminals).
