A Deep Look at Pseudai Research Collection (Wax Mainnet)
Pseudai's Research collection focuses on art generated by algorithms.
These are colorful, dark, moody, technological and almost 100% algorithm generated, apart from upscaling which is done 'to taste'. The majority of the NFTs by Pseudai are left untouched and if they ever get a modification manually, it is usually indicated on the NFT attributes (Participant: 1).
Each piece from the series 'Clear Origins' has a brief story to give it context in the set of renders. The purpose of Pseudai Research is to promote various algorithms that are becoming widely available and taking them to their limits. Additionally, Research helps Pseudai's main aim reach a wider audience.
The Pseudai Foundation was built upon the notion that NFT capabilities are able to bring music into a new era of collaboration with machine technology, mainly AI (advanced computer algorithms that appear to mimic intelligence).
Meanwhile, the Research collection touches on dystopian and aetheric notions relating to machine and man. The popular english author J.R.R. Tolkien hated machines because, in simple words, machines elevated a human drive that didn't need elevating but tempering. Machines made men powerful, able to grasp the entire earth and all it had to offer, but the aim of machines had a rather bleak purpose: to increase gain. Following such a purpose repeatedly without examining its end would undoubtedly lead to a 'tree of evil fruits', to take on a Biblical terminology.
The images evoking the surreal conclusion of such a view are deeply seen within H.R. Giger's works of nightmarish technological endeavor. Already, Neuralink by the Tesla corp have begun the siren song of technoprogress which undoubtedly will lead to horror unseen to nature, a deeper and more depraved form of 'factory' or 'machine' than anyone would likely care to observe.
Nonetheless, the march for progress continues before our very eyes and some of its glimmer and shine is espoused by Pseudai Research's series. The glamour seen in miltarized technology (in Research: Lightware series); soldiers enhanced, accuracy, speed, agility, temper all seen improved by magnitudes over 'mere human' capability.
"I will show you a machine that will make you richer beyond your dreams!"
Going beyond dystopian themes, Research: Colonel Nemo's Excursion series excites the senses with the pleasures of technology. It is sights, sounds, dreams; places we cannot go and things we cannot do. The simulation paradises for our minds brought on by video game culture are an inkling of the future slaveries produced out of the premise of factories, of technoprogress; wherein, the dream dreams the dreamer rather than the other way around.
Still, we are transfixed like deer in the headlights - beholding visual feasts and lavishing praise upon logic circuits or cylinders of liquid or other balanced chambers which emit figures and pattern.
Optimistically, we may say that as we peer into the mirror of wonders, eventually we will learn to discern through what is painful what is not 'ourselves' and somehow come out in the end of it.
Optimistically, humanity is above the base nature of dark, creepy crawling things -- that do not care about warmth any more than they do about the damp cold, after all, we are surmised to have risen out of such places never to return to them again. Bipedal, surfaced, able to transcend so many cages, yet for the present -- all seems lost; for having seen a reflection of man's own independent thought, he gave his wonderful weapon to be carried out to rust in the sea, where the relentless, unmerciful depths take over, building, building, building... as if the construction of man was no feat at all, and no construct worthy at all, the sea would deliver it into its constituent dissoluble parts to become dark, creeping, crawling things again.
