Social Media Challenge: Burning Water with Fire
Social Media Challenge: Burning Water with Fire
Hello Splinterfam! I'm back again this week to share an awesome battle with you featuring Skargore the new Riftwacher Summoner. A very underrated summoner card because he is outshined by better summoner, but very deadly if used correctly especially on the right rules set. Skargore synergize best with melee speedy monster because of his ability which is giving all monster with Enrage ability (Increases melee and speed when damaged). Increasing a monster's speed increases the chance of the opponent's attack to miss. Skargore's is almost always partnered with Coeurl Lurker.
Coeurl Lurker's ability synergizes well with Skargore because of its abilities, the Dodge (Has increased chance of evading melee and ranged attacks) and Phase (Magic attack has a chance to miss) because enrage increases Coeurl Lurker's speed as well as its attack making it a very very dodgy monster.
There is also an ability that works well with Skargore, the Switftness ability (All friendly monster increases their speed by 1) and it is also stackable meaning 2 monster with swiftness ability will give all monster 2 speed.
Skargore can be used in almost every rule except in Reversed Speed making it his ultimate weakness. Magic attacks is also one of his weakness because magic attacks never misses except on a certain ability which was discussed earlier.
Let me show you a battle to further explain.
The Ruleset was
Melee Mayhem (Melee attack monster can attack from any position) and Healed Out (All healing abilities are removed from monsters and summoners).
The Splinters available to use are Fire, Water, and Earth with 52 mana cap. Based on the opponent's previous battles he frequently used Earth and Obsidian as summoner which increases his monsters magic attack by 1. So I decided to use Fire with Skargore as summoner to counter the low speed of his monsters, at least that's the idea. So I was shocked to have to face Kelya a water summoner who gives 1 speed and 1 shield to his monsters. But now matter, I still out speed his monsters.
Let me break down the battle
For the Pos 1, I used Grum Flameblade to tank with 5 shield Void Armor (Magic attack hits armor first) and Void (Reduce damage taken from magic attacks) ability, An anti-magic tank.
For Pos 2, I used Legionnaire Alvar another anti-magic tank. To serve as a 2nd tank in case Grum falls. Since the rule is Melee Mayhem, it can attack
For Pos 3, I used Spirit Hoarder, Its purpose is to heal the backline but I forgot about the 2nd rule which is Healed Out meaning its ability is basically useless in this situation (lol)
For Pos 4, I used one of my favorite card, the Countess Sinash. Her abilities in level 2 are Opportunity (Attack from any position and target monster with the lowest attack), Camoflouge (Cannot be targeted unless if it is in the first position), and Swiftness (increases speed by 1). Her purpose is to increase speed of all monsters and also deal a lot of damage.
For Pos 5, I used Supply Runner with the same purpose as Countess Sinash because at level 5 he acquires the ability Swiftness.
And lastly but not the least the MVP of the match and Skargore's Partner in Crime the Neutral Card Coeurl Lurker. Its purpose is to tank with its Taunt (All monster target this monster if able) ability. As explained earlier its role is to dodge everything he can so while playing this strat you have to pray (LOL)
You can watch the battle by Clicking this link, this will take you directly to Splinterlands.
Though my opponent's summoner is just level 2 making him in a disadvantage position, I think I still played my cards right even if I forgot one of the rules. I believe that I could still win even if my opponent used a max level cards in silver league because I almost countered his line up. In pulling off this strat you to have a large Mana Cap so that you can really utilize Lurker because of its high Mana you can give it tons of support by increasing its speed, and healing it. As I discussed earlier, Skargore is underrated because of the niche use of his ability but with the right tools, right moment, and the right rules he can be a force to be reckoned with.
Thanks again for sparing some of your time reading what I wrote, Even if the strat was already discussed by other people its fun to try it. If you haven't tried this strat yet I suggest you try it before it gets nerfed (LOL JK) Speed is King. I hope you picked up a thing or two on the battle I shared and I hope you have a winning streak using the strat and I'll see you on the next one.
