Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge: Dragons
Hi Splinterfam! I am back again for another awesome battle using a very flexible splinter, the Dragons. Dragons are very expensive to use because of their mana cost because almost all good dragons require high mana. What I like about Dragons besides their cool designs is what they are bringing into the table which is their flexibility having different composition with different other splinters. For those of you who are new here reading my blog, I mainly play on Modern Format Silver League only. So, basically I would cover only Silver League Modern format content here. Without further ado, let's jump into battle!
The Rule set were:
- Counterspell (All monster have reflect ability)
A 46 mana cap battle with Fire, Earth, Death and Dragon available to use. I used Dragon because for the strategy I thought to use is to decrease opponent's damage as much as possible because of the Rule Counterspell, I thought my opponent would go heavily on either melee and ranged damage. I chose death as the dragon's sub splinter because it has a way to decrease opponent's ranged attack damage.
The Line up was:
- Camila Sungazer - To decrease opponent's damage output by decreasing his Melee damage
- Harklaw To make use his Shield ability because of the Rule Counterspell he would likely receive magic damage (that's the Idea at least lol)
- Carnage Titan - To serve as a second tank with high damage output because it can attack 2x
- Queen of Crow - To decrease opponent's damage output by decreasing his Ranged damage
- Dhampir Infiltrator - A powerful dragon splinter who attacks at the back
- Silent Sha-vi - For follow up damage to opponent's backline
- Uraeus - For follow up damage to opponent's backline
The Idea of this line up is to decrease opponent's damage as much as possible and to go at the back with sneak monsters. I did not expect the opponent to use magic monster much more to use Obsidian because of the Counterspell rule which explains why on the name of the rule (lol). The strategy worked and almost got wiped so I dont think the opponent's line up was that bad. If you would like to watch the battle kindly click this link.
I would say the battle went according to plan with a very few hiccups. But hey not everything goes according to plan so I believe that if I try a different strategy like going to the front door would result for a different outcome because his front is very tanky with tank heal at the back.
