Share Your Battle Weekly Challange: Prismologist

Hello Splinterfam! I'm back again for this week's Share your battle challenge featuring Prismologist . For those of you who are new here reading my blog, I mainly play on Modern Format Silver League only. So, basically I would cover only Silver League Modern format content here.

  • Lore

Prismologists are experts at illusory and light-based magic using prisms. Armed with their custom built prism, they bring them to the battlefield to manipulate magic around themselves. Light dances around them in a rainbow of colors as they lay waste to a bloody battlefield.

Those who wish to become Prismologists train at the Peace of Light Monastery from dawn until dusk with the goal of joining the order of the Spectrum Prism. Their mastery of light and glass allows them to perform spectacularly stunning and powerful magic.

In order to become a full-fledged Spectrum member and Prismologist, a spellcaster must craft their own Prism to use as a focus for their spells. Each summer solstice, future Prismologists journey from the Shimmer City to the deserts of Draykh Nahka to collect sand and create their own prism.

It is a challenging process involving facing multiple dragons in battle, heating the sand enough to become glass, and making it through the desert alive. Not many manage to complete the task, but those that do are a sight to behold.
As the sun sank beneath the horizon on the third day of battle at New Everitt, the sky shifted from a blood red to pitch black. The fighting continued into the night, and occasionally torches and spells would flash across the battlefield. This was war and had been for some time since the Chaos Legion arrived.

The enemy army had minions that could see in the dark, but most Praetorians weren't that lucky. Many relied on torch light at night or were able to land a hit with the light of a spell. Fighting in the dark was madness, and soon the enemy would wash over the city. The retreat horn sounded in the deep, and allies fled behind the barricaded walls. The enemy advanced on the heavy gates, smashing and slamming into it with attacks and spells.

A light appeared in the distance, brighter than any spell or star. Pearlescent rays shot over the battlefield, revealing it as if the sun itself had risen. A single ray erupted in flames within the center of foes advancing on the gates. Enemies were flung into the air as the fireball exploded. Cheers erupted from the city. A Prismologist had arrived. Light had come.

Prismologist

  • Edition - Chaos Legion

  • Rarity - Epic

  • Element - Life

  • Attack - Range

  • Abilities - Blast (Obtains Forcefield on level 4 and Silence on level 6)

  • Stats

image.png

If you look at the stats for max Silver Level Which is level 3

  • Attack Damage 4
  • Speed 2
  • Armor 2
  • Health 5

Her stats is somewhat mediocre the only thing good about her is her damage output. If you look at her attack damage, wooof!, she hits like a truck! The only issue I have with her is survivability which is very low due to her low health and speed. Yeah she has armor but I don't think that's enough. Moving on, every card has its Pros and cons so I don't think she's that bad. I think the best time to use her on High Mana cap and if there is no sneak monster on opponent's side. Prismologist shines due to her ability which is Blast, since her damage is 4 the splash damage the opponent's second monster takes 2 damage.

  • Synergies

For the rule set, Prismologist is more effective in:

  • Close Range - Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles. (Every Ranged monster dream is to attack when on the frontline [lol])
    image.png

  • Unprotected - Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs. (Since there is no armor on your opponent monsters the blast ability will do much work, you can rip through opponent's monsters with ease due to her very high damage)
    image.png

  • Target Practice - All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability. (Snipe ability allows Prismologist to attack 3 monsters [if able] because of her blast ability)
    image.png

  • Holy Protection - All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability. (Divine shield does not only protect her by taking 1 extra attack but also removes the divine shield of opponent's monster which is position at the back of the attacked monster due to Prismologist's blast ability)

For summoner, General Sloan is the best to use if you want to place a line up using Prismologist. General Sloan increases the damage output of Prismologist because General Sloan increases the damage of all ranged monsters by 1.

  • Battle

Now let's jump into battle wherein I used Prismologist because of the Ruleset Holy Protection to take care of opponent's monster faster with the blast ability.

The Ruleset were:
image.png

  • Holy Protection - (All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability)
  • Up to Eleven - (All monsters have the Amplify ability)

32 mana cap with Earth, Life, Death and, Dragon Splinters to use. The Strategy I used on this battle is placing low mana cap monster in the front and Prismologist at the back to serve as the damage dealer. Decrease opponent's speed to increase survivability and placing a couple of repair monster on the battlefield to prolong the life of some of the monsters.

The Line up was:
image.png

  • Grandmaster Rathe (To have extra armor and to make use of the extra armor if pelacor conjurer is resurrected because resurrected monsters acquires again the divine shield effect and armor making conjurer more tanky)

  • Pelacor Conjurer (Tank with Flying and Reflect ability, to make use of the Up Eleven Rule if opponent use magic attacking monsters)

  • Soul Fiend (To act as meat shield only)

  • Adelade Brightwing (To repair and resurrect conjurer prolonging his demise)

  • Time Mage (To lower speed of opponent's monsters to increase survivability of Conjurer by helping him dodge attacks)

  • Lone Boatman (to repair armors either on conjurer of Prismologist if ever opponent uses sneak monster)

  • Prismologist (to serve as the damage dealing monster and to remove faster tha opponent's divine shields)

image.png

The Strategy in this battle is to make conjurer survive as long as he can giving Prismologist a chance to attack and tear through opponent's line up. The Strategy worked, could have come up with a better strategy, but hey! a win is still a win. Next time I would try to use her with general sloan if the rulesets favor it, like having a Close Range rule. If you want to see the Battle Kindly click this link here!

  • Conclusion

Prismologist is a very fun card to use because of her blast ability and high damage. It is hard to use her because there is a much better cards to use on life alternative to her. For me I play Life on an defensive way like sustaining and dodging attacks. Prismologist is for aggressive play using general sloan and hoping to eliminate the opponent's monster on the first round before they can make a move. Her weakness is sneak monster and because of her low speed she is not very survivable.
