Share your Battle: Dragon

Hello Splinterfam! Here I am, back again writing and sharing to you another awesome battle! This week of Share your Battle is all about Dragons. Dragon monster are a very powerful cards, as you can see almost all powerful dragon cards require too much mana to use. I always play on modern format on silver league so the Dragon summoner I use are Camila and Quix The Devious, I don't play Kitty though it is very powerful but I'm a cheap player as much as possible I want my rent to be affordable yet competitive without using such summoners because renting a level 2 Kitty is very expensive for me. It is fun to use Dragon cards because you can use any element if you use a Dragon Summoner, you can think so many type of combos and it is very flexible, you can sometimes catch your opponent off guard. The very downside of Dragons in my opinion is their high mana costs because I discussed earlier that almost all powerful Dragon cards requires to much mana.

I always use/rent the following Dragon cards

• Camila Sungazer
• Quix the Devious
• Carnage Titan
• Chaos Dragon
• Oshuur Constantia
• Agor Longtail
• Dragon Jumper
• Djinn Chwala
• Dhampir Infiltrator
• Whelp Herder

Those are my most Dragon cards used. All max level on Silver League Except for Oshuur, Agor and Dragon Jumper. This card is very useful even if its only level 1.

Now let's jump in the battle I want to share with you. Now, the first thing to look at before you choose to use Dragon cards is the Mana cap I always consider using Dragons (if available) when the mana cap is 50 or above. If the mana cap is 99 then its a no brainer, always pick Dragon (lol).

The rules of the battle are Equalizer and Up Close & Personal with a 36 mana cap, and all splinters are available to use. Yeah. I know I said to use dragon if the mana cap is high but the rules is just so good for Camila.

Equalizer - The initial health of all monster is equal to that of the monster on either team with the highest base health.

Up Close & Personal - Only monster with melee attack may be used in battle.

For the summoner, I used Camila Sungazer because of her ability which decreases the melee attack of all monster the opponent use by 1. This is very much effective because the opponent must only use melee monsters. For the sub element/splinter, I used Death solely because I want to use Harklaw. The Idea of this strategy is to weaken all his monster with 2 Demoralize (Reduce melee attack of opponent's monster by 1) and Thorn them to death with Chwala ata the backline.

Let me breakdown the battle, For the Pos 1 I used Harklaw to tank with Shield ability (Reduce damage from melee and ranged attack).

For Pos 2 I used Corpse Fiend for Meat Shield purpose only since its only 0 mana cost which could fit in every line up.

For Pos 3 I used Disntigrator because of its Demoralize ability which would weaken opponents monsters.

For Pos 4 I used Whelp Herder for its Opportunity ability (The monster can attack from any position and targets monster with the lowest health)

For Pos 5 I used Dragon Jumper for its Opportunity ability as well.

For Pos 6 I used Djinn Chwala for its Thorn Ability (Does damage back to attacker of attacked by a melee attack.

The strat I used in this battle is to weaken enemy monster with the demoralize ability and carmila as summoner. I use Harklaw since all enemy monster would be melee making Harklaw's ability very very effective. I used monster with Opportunity to avoid the monster with Thorn ability on the backline the opponent will most likely play. I used Chwala because I predicted that the opponent would use sneak monsters.

Dragon cards are so much fun to use because of the unthinkable combos you could come up with. Maybe next time I would try to use Dragons even on the lower mana caps to maybe prove me wrong that dragon cards works best when used on high mana caps battles. Looking forward for the Dragon summoner to be airdropped on the Chaos Legion edition, I hope it is very powerful and so much fun to use.
