Splinterlands - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge - Theme: Chaos Knight
Hello Friends,

https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/share-your-battle-weekly-challenge-chaosknight
It's been a good week with few more packs purchased by me and it's been a busy week fighting against Waka Spiritblade and the good thing is that, I could win most of those and the ghost of Waka wasn't felt that much!!!!
OK, here I am with this blog for this week's SHARE YOUR BATTLE weekly challenge with a Chaos Legion edition monster from Life Splinter is getting introduced in the weekly challenge and it's the new monster for weak magic rule sets, the monster is Chaos Knight!!!!

Chaos Legion is the monster which can potentially make up for lack of Silvershield Paladin or Shieldbearer although it has it's own advantages over the other 2 mentioned.
The additional ability it gets is the ability to attack with double attack against monsters with MANA cost of 10 or more.
It also gives +1 melee attack thru inspire ability and that means, it does a bit of job of even Silvershield Knight as well.

Stats:

The stats for this Chaos Legion edition monster are quite interesting as we can see from above screenshot.
As we see, it's melee attack monster with starting attack of 2 which can increase to 3 from level 3 and that's max, but, as it's a inspire ability monster and we do have few more inspire ability ones in Life Splinter, it's final attack depends on how many inspire ability monsters we use.
It's speed is also in line with attack as it starts with 2 and can have a max of 3 on it's own, but we do have swift monsters and can increase the speed of this and other monsters.
Like many Life splinter monsters, this monster too has armors with starting at 3 and will keep increasing to have a max of 5 armors on it's own.
The health starts at a moderate of 4 and can go up to 6 in it's 10 levels.
As for the abilities, It does start with shield ability from level 1 and that means, it takes 1 less attack from melee and ranged attack monsters.
It gets Second ability of giant killer from level 5 and that enables it to attack with double damage against monsters with 10 or more MANA cost.
And it gets it's Third and final ability of inspire at level 9 to give the much needed +1 melee attack to all friendly monsters and that reduces the burden of adding a non attacking melee monster like Silvershield Knight in my lineup and instead, I can use this as a front monster as well in weak magic battles.

Battle and Lineup:

The above screenshot shows the batttle MANA cap and lineup of monsters.
As we see, this was a battle with 32 MANA cap and had a rule set of weak magic meaning, even the magic monsters have to remove the armors First to reduce the main health.
Based on the MANA cap and rule set, I felt, I will use theme monster of Chaos Knight as my front monster and the lineup was as below:
Lineup:
1. Chaos Knight:

As I said, the main reason for using this in front position was to utilize it's huge number of armors since this was a battle with weak magic rule set and this also has the giant killer ability to attack with double melee attack against monsters having 10 or more MANA cost.
2. Pelacor Conjurer:

Used this for any possible snipe attack and also to utilize it as a backup front monster in case the Chaos Knight gets removed early, which wasn't the case though :)
3. Armorsmith:

Used to re-produce armors for Chaos Knight using this monster's repair ability and also have it as front monster to protect the other more important monsters to follow it.
4. Adelade Brightwing:

This is like a complete package with repair, resurrect and immunity abilities and is best suited for the weak magic battles although it just lacks enough speed.
5. Divine Healer:

The tank healer in this lineup of monsters besides giving the all important Single magic attack.
It also reduces the speed of all the monsters on the other side with it's slow ability.
6. Lone Boatman:

Lastly, I used another repair ability monster to equip the Chaos Knight monster and keep even other monsters with armors safe by even repairing those if the armors of Chaos Knight are maxed out.
Opponent used Kelya Frendul, the new Water splinter summoner along with monsters The Kraken, Torrent Fiend, Pelacor Bandit, Feasting Seaweed, Deeplurker and Pirate Captain to complete his lineup.

Battle:
Round 1:
The combined active attack in each round was 22 for the opponent with The Kraken leading it with 5 melee attack and I meagerly had an active attack of 7 with only The Kraken to receive the double attack from Chaos Knight.
Inspite of this, the round 1 had a monster removed twice but got resurrected in the form of Armorsmith with final result of no monster removed!!!

Round 2:
Opponent's 2 opportunity monsters in Feasting Seaweed and Deeplurker were always on the lookout to get rid of Armorsmith since that was the One with lowest health in my lineup and those 2 succeeded in doing so in this round.

Round 3:
Opponent had the major setback in this round as 2 of his monsters got removed including the taunting The Kraken and Zero MANA cost monster of Torrent Fiend followed it soon.

Round 4:
Pelacor Conjurer evaded many attacks like it always does, but, couldn't go beyond this round as the 2 opportunist monsters and snipe attack monster of Pirate Captain were always attacking it.

Round 5:
Adelade Brightwing was the next target for all the monsters from other side being the lowest health monster and also the monster with magic attack and it got removed in this round, but more importantly, opponent too lost Pelacor Bandit reducing his monster count to 2.

Round 6:
With Deeplurker still active for opponent, it was targeting the Divine Healer and it has to bow out in this round with Chaos Knight and Lone Boatman left for me to keep the battle active.

Round 7, 8 and 9:
The usage of Chanseus The Great summoner paid off for me in these last few rounds as the poisoned Lone Boatman was healed by the summoner to keep it active in the battle and for opponent, the Feasting Seaweed fought valiantly until it bowed out in round 9.

Round 10 and 11:
The last standing monster of Deeplurker survived round 10, but, has to bow out in round 11 ending this battle!!!

Questions and Answers:
Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?
I think it was a fresh approach to used Chaos Knight instead of ever trusting Shieldbearer and with usage of Chaos Knight, the battle had a fresh look and could accommodate a monster like Adelade Brightwing which had a huge role in winning this battle.
I don't think any other monster here would have reduced the number of rounds, but yes, any other magic attack monster would have just made this battle to end early.
Do I like the CHAOS KNIGHT? Why or why not?
Definitely like this new monster as it comes with new abilities and can be a good replacement for Shieldbearer and Silvershield Paladin, so, it's a BIG yes from me to use this more and more in the battles I fight from now onwards.

That was One loooong battle with 11 rounds and that's quite understandable with so many repair monsters and Chaos Knight was always refusing to bow out!!!
I hope you enjoyed the content about this nice battle and I will keep producing those as always :)
Thanks and Have a good day :)
