Splinterlands - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge - Theme: Carrion Shade
Hello Friends,

https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/share-your-battle-weekly-challenge-carrionshade
Good day to all. I am sure many of us have invested on Cub and started earning PolyCub as per LeoFinance's recent airdrop programme and it's going smooth barring some small issues which the LeoFinance team is looking at.
Well, here comes another Splinterlands blog for the weekly SHARE YOUR BATTLE Challenge with another Chaos Legion edition monster getting featured in Carrion Shade from Death Splinter.
I am closing in on maxing out most of the summoners and even monsters from Chaos Legion and should be ready to move back to Champions leagues soon if not from this season.
Oh yeah, let me write about this battle with Carrion Shade used.

Carrion Shade is one of those most sought monsters as it just costs 1 MANA and will be useful in equalizer rule set battles.
This one is a melee attack monster from Death splinter from Chaos Legion edition from Common category.

Stats:

This monster costs just 1 MANA as I said and it gives a melee attack ranging between 1 to 2 .
It has speed varying between 2 to 4 in it's 10 levels and strts with 2 speed.
The health too stays in same range as in case of speed with starting health of 2 and that only increases by 1 in the final level to be a max of 3.
As for as the abilities, it gets lone ability of flying from level 3 onwards.

Battle and Lineup:

https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_ded3dd152eb96a3a338dbc4120ca557f&ref=coolguy123
This battle had just 16 MANA cap and had 2 rule sets I love the most with Super sneak (all melee monsters attacking the last monster on the lineup unless there is a taunt monster) and equalizer being the other one which makes all the monsters have equal health.
The battle's 16 MANA cap means, I had to look out for low MANA cost monsters and with lots of those introduced in Chaos Legion edition, it was not much of difficulty to select 6 monsters.
Keeping these points in mind, I selected below lineup for this battle.
Lineup:
1. Cursed Slimeball:

I particularly use this to remove divine shield but for this battle, it was required as a monster to reduce the armors or main health since it had equalizer rule set.
Besides the ability, it can also give 2 useful melee attack (ofcourse with inspire by Enchanted Pixie).
2. Carrion Shade:

Used the theme monster in Second position to make most use of it's 1 MANA cost but 3 melee attack again inspired by Enchanted Pixie.
Being a flying monster, it also has increased chance of evading the attack and thus can last longer.
3. Undead Badger:

Another low MANA cost monster with just 2 cost and gives 2+1 melee attack and has good speed of 5 to make him an early attacker.
4. Enchanted Pixie:

Used this to inspire all melee attack monsters and also to utilize it's 1 magic attack.
5. Skeleton Assassin:

This poison ability monster is also among the early attackers with same speed of 5 as of Undead Badger and gives 3 useful melee attack as well.
6. Crypt Beetle:

Lastly, I used this armored and shield enabled monster as we can expect most of the attack towards it and it always takes 1 less attack because of shield ability.
Opponent used Life Splinter and he had a good front monster in Pelacor Conjurer with his monsters as Feral Pixie, Stitch Leech, Uraeus, Armorsmith and Furious Chicken to complete his lineup.

Battle:
Round 1:
Opponent's usage of Pelacor Conjurer made all the monsters to have 8 health as that was the one with highest health among all the monsters used on either side.
The battle started with most of the attack towards back end and Furious Chicken and Crypt Beetle bearing those attacks.
There wasn't any casualty in this round although the poisoned Furious Chicken was to get removed even before next round starts as it was wit just 2 health by the end of this round.

Round 2:
Skeleton Assassin poisoned Second monster in successive rounds with Armorsmith being the victim this time and barring that getting removed by next round, there weren't any other monsters removed in this round.

Round 3:
Crypt Beetle became the First monster to be removed from my lineup as it was poisoned and was under continuous attack because of super sneak.

Round 4:
Opponent lost one more monster in the form of Uraeus in this round and that was the only one to complete this round's casualties.

Round 5:
As many as 3 monsters got removed in this round with Skeleton Assassin being the Second one from my side and opponent lost Stitch Leech and Pelacor Conurer and is left with just One monster to continue the battle.

Round 6 and 7:
It took 2 rounds to get rid of the Feral Spirit and that ended the battle of this equalizer rule set one with 4 of my monsters staying alive.

Questions and Answers:
Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?
Yes, the usage of low MANA cost monsters including Carrion Shade worked well and Crypt Beetle took most of the attack and stayed alive for almost 4 rounds.
The strategy of using the Enchanted Pixie to inspire* all the monsters was also a good move here.
Do I like the CARRION SHADE? Why or why not?
Actually, I haven't used this before as most of the equalizer ruleset battles makes me to use Fire splinter with Exploding Dwarf at the front.
But, yeah, I will be using this whenever there is an equalizer ruleset and I have to use Death splinter.

That is all I wanted to write about this battle and I hope as always that, you liked the way this battle explained thru this blog and do keep pouring in your comments on this battle and this blog.
Thanks and Have a good day :)
