The CBRS Channel Podcast 18 | Hive Blockchain and Beyond
Introduction
Welcome back to the CBRS Channel #Podcast! This week marks the 18th episode, and we continue our journey of discussing everything related to Hive Blockchain. Over the past 18 weeks, we've been refining our setup, tweaking our audio quality, and ensuring that every episode delivers valuable insights. Today, we have a jam-packed episode covering new microphone tweaks, the Moon Karts contest, Hive investments, and some #ecosystem developments. Let's dive in!
Refining Our Podcast Setup
One of the challenges of running a podcast is perfecting the audio quality. This week, we’re testing new microphone setups and sound optimizations. We've made adjustments to prevent voice cutting and unwanted noises. Although we're still fine-tuning, our goal is to ensure the best listening experience. Our next step is consulting sound engineers to make further improvements.
Moon Karts Infographic Contest Update
The Moon Karts #contest is gaining traction! With 14 entries in under a week, the participation is promising. However, we've noticed a crucial issue: most posts are too short and lack in-depth explanations. We've emphasized the importance of detailed write-ups to attract more engagement and better curation #rewards. Participants should take advantage of the three-week contest period, refine their work, and put more thought into their submissions. The best #infographics can help promote Moon Karts beyond Hive, making them essential for broader marketing efforts.
Hive Investments & Market Movements
CBRS invested €2,000 in Hive and HBD. The Hive market experienced fluctuations recently, prompting us to make strategic investments. This approach secured returns while maintaining liquidity. We're also considering diversifying investments into Hive-based tokens like Zing, DEC, and potential Bitcoin purchases. We seek community opinions on whether to allocate funds into various platforms or keep them in HBD’s stable interest.
Splinterlands Promotion by Influencers
A major highlight this week was a Ukrainian influencer, Yuli Kai (YuliWho on X), promoting @Splinterlands. Her professional production quality caught our attention, and the engagement from the #Splinterlands community was remarkable. This reinforces the importance of onboarding influencers to create awareness about Hive-based games and applications.
Hive Shorts Expansion
Our podcast #shorts are gaining traction! Currently, we're distributing them across 10 platforms, including YouTube, X, BlueSky, and more. Community members like @neopch are also creating their own Hive shorts, further pushing ecosystem content.
Hive Echo Initiative
@Hive-Echo is a powerful initiative designed to expand Hive's presence on social media by #rewarding users for sharing and transcribing Hive-related content. Participants can post #Hive content across various social media platforms and earn upvotes, engagement rewards, and additional Hive incentives.
To maximize earnings, users can follow a simple process:
- Find Hive-related content to transcribe or share. You can find many shorts in any @Hive-Echo article.
- Post it on different platforms such as X, YouTube, or Instagram.
- Drop a comment with the link to the original content.
- Submit the comment link to the 3Speak Discord Hive Echo channel to qualify for rewards.
Many users have already benefited from this low-effort, high-reward system. If you're not leveraging #HiveEcho, you're missing out on free money!
Hive’s Growing Real-World Adoption
An inspiring success story comes from Nigeria, where a Hive user @fokusnow opened the Happy Customers Supermarket in Aba. The store accepts HBD payments, allowing customers to earn upvotes and discounts. This showcases Hive’s potential as a real-world payment system. The initiative is similar to #Bitcoin adoption stories, where businesses leverage cryptocurrency for customer engagement.
The Spend HBD Map already lists businesses accepting Hive-based payments, paving the way for a decentralized economy.
Keychain’s Massive Giveaway
Cause of IPFS problems we were not able to upload the video to @threespeak so yeah, this giveaway has already ended.

Mysterious Leo Finance Proposal Fluctuations
A puzzling development occurred with Leo Finance’s #DHF proposal. Initially, it was gaining traction with 30+ million HP votes, approaching approval. However, a sudden surge in return proposal votes (61 million) disrupted all funding allocations. Later, Leo Finance seemingly regained support, only to drop back to 28 million HP.
Questions remain:
- Was this a glitch or manipulation?
- Who is behind the massive voting shifts?
- Is a major whale influencing the DHF system?
If any listeners have insights, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
Upcoming Visits & Real-World Hive Transactions
Next week, we’ll be visiting Café Restaurant Pan in The Hague, a BTC-accepting business. Along the way, we’ll also explore Voorlopig Store, which supports Bitcoin transactions. Our goal is to demonstrate seamless crypto payments and discuss @thedistriator integration possibilities.
We also look forward to testing the Starkers-funded Hive payment cards, which allow instant crypto-to-fiat transactions. This development could revolutionize Hive's real-world utility.
Final Thoughts & Call to Action
This episode highlighted significant Hive ecosystem updates, community initiatives, and market strategies. Our key takeaways:
- Optimize your Moon Karts infographic entries – focus on quality content!
- Leverage @Hive-Echo and social media shorts – free money is waiting!
- Explore real-world Hive adoption – businesses are already onboard.
- Keep an eye on the Leo Finance DHF saga – something strange is happening.
- Join Keychain’s #giveaway – earn Centauri packs and HP delegation!
Hive is growing, and opportunities are everywhere. Get involved, experiment, and most importantly, keep grinding! See you next week.

Woohoo!!!
Another great show, guys! Congrats!! 🍷
Many opportunities for those who search for inspiration to write, or to show their designer's qualities... No more excuses! There are plenty of initiatives, giveaways, and reasons to contribute to HIVE!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the show! No more excuses indeed—so many opportunities out there for writers, designers, and creators to get involved. Hive is full of chances to shine, and we’re just getting started. Appreciate your support 😍
Thanks for including my project in this highlight. HBD adoption is growing in my city thanks to the SpendHBD initiative. Hopong to get more businesses and users onboard
SpendHBD @thedistriator is exactly the kind of initiative that pushes real adoption forward. Getting businesses and users on board is no small task, but you're making it happen—huge respect for that. Keep pushing, keep spreading the word, and know that every step you take is making a difference. The more people see HBD in action, the faster adoption will grow. Looking forward to seeing your progress—let’s keep building!
I listened to your podcast and am so glad you guys are focused on improving your audio. Audio quality is way more important than video, and good CLOSE-SOUNDING audio is one of the main things that draw me to a podcast and keep me coming back for more (with good content of course).
(Often I will have a podcast playing in the background while I'm doing something else, or just listen to the audio portion of a video podcast such as JRE. So good audio is super important).
Despite your thick foreign accents, you two are at least understandable when listening to you. Here are some things I'd love to see (just my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right) that would make your podcast even more inviting (note that I keep saying "listen" more than watch, that's how important audio is) and cause me to tune into your podcast even more:
I love the close sound that a good podcast offers, almost as if the speaker is talking right into my ear. Take a listen to the latest No Agenda Show. Notice how close hosts Adam and John sound. I love listening to them and download their shows twice a week and have been listening to them since 2012.
Take a listen to the Macbreak Weekly podcast. Notice how host Leo Laporte has that mic right up next to his mouth? That results in that close sound that I like so much, and I've been listening to him for years as well due to the audio quality as well as the content. Target audio like this (meaning you need those adjustable boom mic arms where you can get that mic about an inch or two away from your mouths (as opposed to sitting far away on the table) and you'll make me a very happy fan of your podcast). :)
The Mysterious Radio Podcast is an example of bad audio. In this episode on the music industry and the occult, notice that while the host K-town sounds "close," her voice comes across as "thick" and "muddy." I don't know what she did to ruin it. The content is great, but the sound is just awful, and sometimes its hard to make out what she's saying.
The curtains behind you are horrid and resemble swimming sperm in the background. I'd suggest something of a primary color, maybe a royal purple or wine red possibly. Something to make you stand out against the background. I like the monitor placement, and a larger one would be great. Love the "On Air" sign too.
I wish your podcast name was 3 words instead of 4. "Cold Beet Soup" or Beet Root Soup" rolls off the tounge better and is easier to remember than "Cold Beet Root Soup" which my brain turns into "Cold Beet Reet Soup" for some reason. It may be too late to alter it, but I'm prone to forgetting one of the words when talking about your podcast to someone.
I LOVE your intro video with the little TV. Its short and memorable, and gets us right into the content.
(Sorry this reply is so long, but I really want your podcast to grow and do well). Down the line you'll adjust lighting, etc. But you guys are doing a great job so far. I notice little things (hence EverNoticeThat) and thought I'd share some ideas that would make me like the podcast even more. Best wishes and KEEP GOING! :)

Wow, this is exactly the kind of feedback we love! Keep it coming because this is gold. We’re definitely focused on getting that crispy, close-sounding audio you love. These new mics are staying for a while, though—our budget isn’t quite there for another upgrade yet. But we’ll be working with some sound engineer friends to squeeze the best quality out of what we’ve got.
Curtains? Noted. Those swimming sperm will have to go at some point. Might take some time, but we hear you. And yeah, @starkerz had a fantastic point too—cleaning the windows is probably the quickest upgrade we can manage.
As for the name, CBRS Channel Podcast is here to stay. Cold Beetroot Soup is a national Lithuanian dish, so we gotta keep that tradition alive. We get that it’s a mouthful, but hey, at least it’s unique.
Really appreciate all the insights, especially about audio—gonna use that to level up the podcast. Hope you keep listening (and keep the feedback coming). Best wishes and keep noticing things!
this reminds me i need to make a new hive t shirt since the one i ordered got taken by wild youtubers
also i need to get on one of those hive podcasts now that ive dipped my toes in solana and wanna giev a perspective recap on what peopel who wanna get hive shown to elona nd trump, are missing... that @dan larimer hive inventor already tried this back during eos, and we dunno really WHAT happaned with block oen and voice back then
but hive still needs to try this aghain with dan larimer, to do another world wide UBI for all chain on hive but scale hive up wioth edenos or antelope or somethin because i still dunno how hive can scale to 4 billion accounts, can it? will we just make multiple hive forks to handle that? i thought hive could only really do as many accounts as tokens can be minted at 3 tokens per account etc ya know? with only a few million hive a year minted or so now ya know?
