SPS Governance Proposal - Recovery Fund Committee

avatar

The purpose of this proposal is to allow the DAO to approve or reject the current slate of members for the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund Committee. These members will be tasked with exploring failed crypto gaming projects and determining how or if to suggest the DAO allocate shares of the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund to support each project. Simply put, these will be the Splinterlands community members that are volunteering to assist with information gathering and sharing related to the projects the SPS DAO may subsequently choose to support via the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund.

Proposal

If this proposal passes, the SPS DAO will appoint the following community members to represent it for the purposes of information gathering and proposal presentation related to the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund:

If the proposal passes and subsequently the community or the committee determines this group to be ineffective, then the group will be dissolved via an SPS governance proposal and it will be the responsibility of the SPS DAO Project Manager to gather a new slate of community representatives for the SPS DAO to approve.

This is great, but will it stay within Hive or will it be other chains too? What about games that seem STUCK? They're not dead, but they're also not going anywhere like crypto-shots or HoloZing and a bunch of other in purgatory Hive games.

From what I understood this is for non-Hive games. The idea was to bring their communities to Splinterlands as their games are closing and incentivize them to come over here.

Great selection. Will help get interest in new players to come over and give Splinterlands a try.

Governance and Oversight
So after slogging thru this I see the following:

*A dedicated three-member DAO subcommittee will oversee:
Project eligibility and inclusion

Tier and allocation models for each project

Complex evaluations, such as illiquid or unique NFT assets

The fund is not limited to Ember Sword and is scalable across multiple defunct GameFi projects, pending evaluation and approval by DAO governance.

Final funding decisions for each project will require full DAO approval through a governance vote, ensuring transparency and decentralized accountability.

So in short its to investigate and recommend which will lead to a vote.

I'm fine with this.

I noted the terms specifying three members and five recommended in the proposal. This is probably better, but not consistent.

Noted, I felt 5 was better as I view myself as more of a support member to the group. Just having 2 didn't make since and having 3 + me meant we could end up in a situation where 2 would just override 1 in every situation. Basically I plan to encourage them to find agreement in the group and if we reach an impasse where they're split 2/2 I'll break the tie.

Glad to be asked to be a part of this. We know that many people have been scammed in the past.

where do the 4 names comes from?

I hoping some kind of capital stewardship and exclusively non-hive projects being the target. Can I get a written confirmation of that. Otherwise, we are adding to the leak.

Bjangles and captaindingus volunteered. Stever and synest3r were approached specifically because they interact with those other games outside of the HIVE ecosystem. The core idea behind all of this was bring people from outside to us.

Sounds good! Let's hope this will be effective. I mean these users already know web 3. So should be easier to onboard.

Another good proposal, I'm very impressed with how the proposal system has become more focused on meaningful issues lately.

As @azircon mentioned, I was interested to see where the suggested names came from. (I do personally believe they are all pillars of the community. But others might not know who they are, or how they got put forward)

godspeed

We could save people... or, put another way, we could become a religion. No more taxes! Only salvation!

As always, I'm 99.9999% joking.

I question having anyone who invested in the infinite money loop BS that was sponsored at the last splinterfest. That was soooooo obviously a scam.
