Photography Lovers End of Year Contest - My entry
A little bit of nostalgia, fun and something more
Hello friends, I hope you are very well, today I have the pleasure to participate in the contest organized by @derangedvisions, which will be my first participation in the community, so it is a letter of introduction. Like many here I am a lover of photography, however this year was not so good for me in terms of my photographic record since I lost my device where I kept most of my photos, practically more than half a year lost, even so I have been able to collect about 800 photos for the end of this year, and those I will share with you. Particularly I am a lover of the spontaneous, rather than prepared shots, so you will see in some of my photos images that do not meet the quality criteria to be considered as a good photo (professionally speaking) but have been the best for the meaning they have, and that's what this is about, share with you what I consider my best photos and why each of them. So with that said, let's get started.
This picture was taken on August 5th, and it was the last day of my "little Negrita", she was very sick and although we tried to cure her, in the end it was not possible. I have placed it here for two simple reasons, the first one for her tender look even in her last days of life, and the second one because as a family we think it was the event that most marked us this year, she was a member of our family and we enjoyed her for about 7 years, her loss was painful for all of us but we will always remember her with joy.
I can't help but laugh when I look at this picture, watching my 6 year old learn is nice, but when it's her turn to do homework her fun is usually over, and she gives us looks from the bottom of her heart haha.
Here in my country education is not usually good, since everything has been politicized, however these photos show something different. The classic education or Homeschool, a possibility that has been opening because of the pandemic, where as parents we have enjoyed giving our children a real education.
This photo was taken on November 26th, and it was a real surprise for my wife on her birthday, one of the things she has always wanted to do is to enjoy her birthday with brothers from the church, so it was an excellent opportunity to do so. Although everyone didn't look at the camera because of some mischief from the kids, the moment was beautiful and this picture shows it to the fullest. My wife is the one wearing a pink flannel with a loaded child and a very smiling look on her face. It was definitely a good time.
In these photos Mr. and Mrs. Turtle posed for me before they went for a swim, it was like: What are you looking at? haha. Really photographing animals is something I like to do, and in this occasion the turtle couple was ideal to give me good shots. After that the king of the swamp appeared (turtle swimming) and the romance was over.
My Best Photos of 2021
Abigail, Eliab and Camila their little friend, a friendship that my children have been able to achieve and enjoy at this young age they have. A photo that shows the affection between them, although sometimes they don't want to play together haha, kid stuff.
My good friend from childhood, this photo was taken to join Hive, a photo that is special because after so many obstacles to start at last he could do it. However he has been a bit inactive, I hope he can reactivate, hive is a blockchain with many opportunities. I think we hold people dear and wish the best for them, well, this photo emulates that.
Because there is always a group breaker haha, in this photo it was my wife, all eating lemon popsicles and she wanted grape, when didn't she haha!!!!
My friend "Fronti" from the zoo. A Fronti bear who took the audacity to win the best profile picture of the year, he wanted a selfie with me but I didn't want to risk it haha. This photo was taken during an expedition, and the kids and everyone present were delighted with the bear, who has always been very elusive but this time he came very close to us and allowed us to take good pictures of him.
My beloved mother in her daily life, a photo that she doesn't know I'm posting here but without a doubt is one of the best for me, I love her smile, but particularly her closed eyes in this shot, that makes the moment perfect, besides my mother has slanted eyes and they close a lot when she smiles.
Finally, my little titan, my beautiful son who is usually quite witty in his photographs. I like this picture and I consider it one of the best because of his creativity to take it, although the pose is nothing special, his clothes are, his glasses, his helmet, his sweater and his obligatory mask haha. The little guy has style and that's how he likes to walk with me.
Well friends, these are the best pictures I have been able to take this year, maybe if I had not lost the rest I would have placed some others, but no doubt these are important to me and I share them with all of you.
