While I have already done 4 write ups on Passive income via NFT ownership, its a new year & literally so much has changed the old write ups are obsolete. While Splinterlands ROI at the moment is low I have some temporary solutions on how to supplement your Splinterlands earnings in the short term.

So this is my new updated version of play to earn games with a passive income option lets get on with it.

Rplanet

Rplanet has had a significant update now their staking options for AETHER strictly support Rplanet NFTs.

So no matter what collections NFTs you may have staked unless its Rplanet NFTs they no longer produce AETHER.

Assuming this doesn't mean the end for Rplanet but instead a turning point this may up value AETHER. However it may be the end of Rplanet so get your staked NFTs back while you can.

Beast Garden

A newer WAX play to earn I have done a few write ups & airdrops featuring Beast Gardens has 2 passive earning mechanics thus far. I say thus far because the road map outlines a few more then currently featured.

Beast NFTs & Promo NFTS generate BGFOCUS

While Spring or water NFTs generate BGWATER

Both these WAX alts are generated via owning the NFT & you may claim them by logging into the game & hitting the claim button.

This is however a fully functional game & the WAX alts have in game use cases that burn the overall supply causing a realistic demand.

Alien Ships

A game I have been with since the beginning Alien Ships has in recent months introduced a series of passive earning NFTs & Game options.

Space factories being my personal favorite as they in essence produce WAX daily.

Factories have passive NFT production mechanisms.

Rovers produce ship NFTs once a month.

You can even rent out your ships which honestly is much easier then playing to produce credits which serve many in game functions.

Hisoe

Odd little game that intends to one day be a tower defense style game for now however its mostly NFT creation, upgrading, & staking.

I like to diversify my play to earn holdings as much as possible for as little as possible you never know which may be a smash hit once they get far enough along. Given tower defense style games are somewhat popular I figure why not throw $5 at it just to see. For now I earn passively by staking my NFTs which generate HIT every hour.

Gnocity

This play to earn has so much going on I cant actually tell you all of it here, something that you have to see to believe.

Other then land plots still not available to utilize in game, simply setting up racing or fighting Gnomes can earn GNOKEN passively.

PVP is a little more involved I log in once in a while to feed my Gnomes for PVP.

However racing is a set it & forget it type earning mechanic that while slower is passive.

So this is passive GNOKEN earning now I'm going to get a little more complex then simple game functions.

Now recently Gnociy added their in game NFT market, you may now sell your Gnome NFTs in Game to other players P2P for GNOKEN. A Gnome that has a higher level fetches more money, so by leveling up a Gnome you increase the value of that NFT.

One of the several methods to level up a Gnome is via pet Staking system.

You claim the earned EXP & select a non used NFT to level up with the EXP earned.

In effect increasing the value of that NFT with the level.

The most recent game update introduced evolution mechanics to utilize the Gnome Eggs starting with the Mary J Gnome.

Combining it with a Egg of that type successfully will turn it into the Dope Gnome from gen 2. Staking certain NFTs in game will produce eggs of that type the more EGGs on one Egg NFT will increase odds of a successful evolution.

Gnocity may take a while to get to different stages of its roadmap but it was at one point an independent start up NFT producer. To see the colection come this far is humbling & shows you even odd NFT collections may become something special.

These NFTs to play are for now still dirt cheap get them while you can once the Gen 2 or Land plot roll out are complete they will likely become very popular.

Upland

Unlike every other entry on this list thus far Upland is on EOS the other entries have been strictly on WAX blockchain. Upland is a metaverse NFT property colection game & its not my favorite game but where passive earnings are concerned Upland is hard to beat.

Again based on NFT ownership the NFTs in question correspond to Buildings / Properties IRL & may be bought or sold to + from other players.

Though you can make money selling the NFTs you can purchase them in game via their in game currency UPX. UPX isn't a crypto but since you can now sell the NFTs for real USD the UPX you generate from property ownership finally has value.

Upland NFTs many suspect will significantly up in value soon over all, Due mostly to new game features like NFLPA legits.

Colonize Mars

Colonize Mars 2 reasons this WAX play to earn has been on my radar for some time now first the / burn blend use case never has had a single flaw.

The second reason is their top grossing NFT resale was $122.6K in USD worth of WAX anything near or around 100k Resale on WAX I keep an eye on.

Players own NFTs & register to play Colonize Mars once the WAX account with the NFTs in it are linked. You chose whom to pay commission to allowing your NFT(s) to produce MARTIA hourly.

Unfortunately they have an in game store for the burn use case for MARTIA & for whatever reason its currently not functional I'm guessing the holidays.

While the MARTIA uses leave much to be desired the game finally works that's a start.

Green Rabbit

Another WAX game allowing players to stake their NFTs for a passive income is Green Rabbit.

Staking their NFTs in Game Generates Shellinium or SHELL hourly. That's nothing new since last time I wrote about Green Rabbit What is new is the Missions Game play feature.

Unfortunately its not a feature I have tested the required forager NFTs are rare & expensive. They do have an in game NFT store if I get lucky maybe ill drop by & get a sale for a forager in time for once.

Splinterlands Side hustles

Ill get right to the point here Splinterlands players that got in just as the SPS airdrop began are use to a different market. Though the prices have lowered on everything including rentals you simply need to be creative to see the upside.

This is all about passive income right so selling the crypto or NFTs are not what I'm talking about here.

I am talking instead about DeFi in a few ways DeFi on HIVE is tied to the game Splinterlands.

Its quite fitting my Splinterlands Portfolio is rather fluid because so much is currently in HIVE liquidity pools. Also known as Diesel Pools Hive liquidity pools can actually be tied to your SPS airdrop.

I know for certain the DEC / SPS pool is tied to the SPS airdrop & the HIVE / DEC pool.

You see not only do you then generate your SPS airdrop still but its also 2x the DEC you add to the liquidity pool. If that's not enough you receive liquidity pool rewards daily increasing your returns even further the BXT Bonus on the HIVE DEC pool.

Since this write up is already too long as is I'm going to include 3 of the other HIVE Games with passive earning mechanisms. Keep in mind ill strictly be talking game mechanics not connected liquidity options.

Dcrops
One of my favorite HIVE games that isn't Splinterlands due to its minimal interaction requirements. Just check in once or twice every 2 week long season to play by growing NFT crops.

This is of course if you actively play, which again real low time requirements compared with most play to earns.

In Summation

I typically focus on WAX & HIVE play to earn games that are affordable I left out a few games. However there is a reason for that either they are to expensive for your average consumer & thus represent to big a risk. There is also the possibility while slim that I have not tested a HIVE or WAX game yet. I even cut a few like roller coin with time constraints now forcing log ins.

Passive income kind of needs both of those as a requirement both Passive & a Income not a deficit. So required log ins are a luxury some cant afford, only so many hours in a day.
