10 years experience in Nigeria

This is my first post in this community, nigeria have, had a lot of leaders in the past but none of them have actually lead the people ,we have a lot of president in the past till date but the country is still in a state of dismayed, and sometime I sit back a ask myself how do we get here, a country that supposed to be in the frontline in Africa, the giant of Africa but the only thing we can proud of as a country is entertainment, something that is not even regulate by the government, since inception, till date the country is moving from bad to worse we have always complain of bad governance in the country praying and hoping that things will change, but eventually things get worse by the day, back in the early nineteen’s things were a little bit better then, after you graduate from school there is a job waiting for you, but in this present day even after you graduate go out, searching for work, they will tell you that they need a ten years’ experience that how bad the system is, they will ask for a 10years experience from one that just graduate from the university and the person should not be more then 27 years of age.

The maths, don’t just add up

One started crèches at the age of three(3), and round up at the age of five(5), continue primary school at the age of six(6), and finish at the age of eleven(11), enter secondary at the age of twelve(12) and finish at the of eighteen(18) got admission into entering tertiary at the age of nineteen(19) for a four year or five years program the academic staff union of university (ASUU) and the federal government will add extra 2year to the supposed year of the program with their constant strike, after which you will graduate at the age of 25, then serve your fathers land for 1-year national youth service corps(NYSC). Finally, you will round up at the age of 26. When you go looking for a job, they will say they need a work experience of 10year and the person should not be more than 27 years of age from the illustration above, you can see that it is practically impossible for a 10 years’ experience, it doesn’t just add up.

How the system work after school

Nigeria graduates fifty thousand 50,000 youth from tertiary institution per annum, out of these 50,000 youth only 20% get employed 20%, 15% is based on who knows who, and only 5% get the jobs by merit.

The system has failed

The governance of this country has crumbled, we vote people to power that are not educational sounds, mentally stable, and emotionally dead, people that don’t have the interest of the people at heart, but come 2023 we all need to vote for the person that has the interest of the people at heart, educational sound, and mentally stable, come 2023 let be the love we want to get and the change we want to see.

The big question here is how will a graduate of 27years old have a work experience of 10 years?
