Where it all began

How can you use your bot to play WILD & SURVIVAL at the same time?!?!?! Let's see.

It was 1 day ago that @artofkylin and @nozem01 were talking my my discord about Splinterlands and then this conversation happened...

And that is the moment I decided to go back and actually read the latest Splinterlands announcement. Which has some.. dare we say.. tantalizing nuggets of information in it.

But why does all this matter? Well because I tried the survival mode when it first came out and well as someone who lacks any strategy when it comes to Splinterlands battles.. Survival was just a way to lock up my cards so I couldn't play them in Modern.

But I have grown since then. And by grown I mean I have the ArchMage bot who battles for me in WILD format now every season.

And now I can play in Survival Format with zero impact to my WILD bot battles... yes please!

And I set the bot to Alternate between Wild and Survival.

And now we wait!

My Survival Battles

Needless to say that my first few bouts in Survival did not end very well. But my bot won the third battle which was a pleasant surprise.

And then eventually I even started to earn some rewards!

Now granted those rewards are pennies compared to what season veterans of Survival are running, but for me to win any SPS in the WOOD league was great news!

Here is a better showing of my bots progress.

I started my experience in Survival roughly 19 hours ago.

I did change my bot temporarily to play 8 games per hour because YOLO. But here is where I ended up after 19 hours.

Changing the bot to run 8 games per hour was stupid because now I am out of Archons.. so the last 17 games my bot played... well he lost all of them. It was a blood bath

Once some of my cards are out of Survival cooldown I will change my bot settings to these and test that out going forward.

And while this week will be burned into my memory as the week I truly put my bot to work by cheating on the WILD league with his side boo thing Survival League.. it wasn't enough for me. I wanted more shenanigans.. so off we go down another rabbit hole.

Enter the AI

Most of you may not know but I recently started working with my AI team at my company and so life is about to get AI crazy. But because of that I wanted to test a few of the various image generation options out there of GenAI and see what we could come up with.

So first we need level set this. I wanted the AI's to create a image of 2 Splinterlands characters fighting but in a fun way. So I had to pick 2 characters and I ended up picking...

I was able to upload both of those character Lore images as a baseline and told it a very simple prompt:

I want a Funny Comical Fantasy SciFi fight between these 2 characters but they don't know how to fight each other so the entire castle room they are in is a big mess.

Which gave me this image.

And I think it may be my favorite out of all of them.

For this I used the 'Cellshaded Anime' (weight 1.0) and 'Game UI' (weight 0.8) Elements. And I didn't upload the stock images, just used the same prompt and this is what it produced for me.

And given it has no reference material... really isn't that bad.

ChatGPT (community)

This time I searched for community made versions and found this guy called "image generator" and figured to give it a shot.

I used the same prompt and totally forgot about the 2 reference images but still it produced this for me.

And then I uploaded those 2 lore pictures and asked it to basically keep the exact same image but upgrade the characters to look more like their reference images and it gave me this.

Which I gotta say... its pretty freakin good compared to what we started with.

But that is really is. I wanted to talk about today. I started playing in Survival Mode. I messed around with AI image generators and neither one of those is going to stop anytime soon. 😁
