I started this last season different then every other season for a number of reasons.

1. I used the archmage bot on my cherokee4life account in the WILD format.
2. I played zero games on Modern format with cherokee4life.
3. I delegated all my Rebellion and Conclave Arcana cards to my alt account Swagnar-Ragnar
4. Swagnar-Ragnar is where I spent the majority of my time this season.
5. The WILD format was free this season. I was going to do it anyways but it being free kind of screwed up my stats I think because soo many people were playing WILD as well.

Preface

I am not a Splinterlands Whale by any stretch of the imagination. But I do have some decent cards. And now that Chaos Legion is in Wild I knew this was my chance to actually play Chaos Legion.

I have 229 cards in the Wild Format with a collection power of 45,655.

I also only have 2,950 staked SPS but this last season I rented 50,000 SPS to get better rewards (in theory).

And I know, this season WILD is free to play so there are many more players in WILD which means less rewards. I know that. But still WILD is for the big dogs. I mean shoot it costs $2 every week to even play in WILD so there HAS to be better rewards there then in Modern right? or what's the point.

That 61.245 SPS I earned is worth $0.56 currently but using the bot cost me 35% of the SPS so really I only took home 39.817 SPS which is worth $0.36. Thankfully SPS is not the only reward I get for playing and Glint also plays a major role in that.

But still the previous season in Modern I earned 5.5 SPS and this season I took home 39.8 SPS which is a lot better!

End of Season Recap for Swagnar-Ragnar

I did not play with this account last season except in Brawls because well it has crap cards and wasn't worth it because I was playing Modern with Cherokee4Life. But for statistic purposes I wanted to document what this account got in Modern because I delegated most of my Rebellion and Conclave Arcana cards to it so it's roughly how well I would have done with Cherokee4Life in Modern if it played last season.

I honestly didn't play a lot with this alt account and I knew I wouldn't. I just wanted to play some to get some Glint so I could get more cards really. And it worked out. Also the main reason for this account is not playing Modern but to play in Brawls. And earning 88.807 from just Brawls was awesome. I just keep all my SPS staked to earn more so win/win!

End of Season Spending my Glint

You know the more and more I play Splinterlands now that I came back and there are all of these new mechanics to it, I really like the Glint mechanic. Sure back in the day earning DEC from winning battles was better. 😁 But now getting to buy cards and upgrade them and use them without spending $$$ is really nice. You get to choose if you want to 'cash out' the cards and such.

But this is interesting with my current setup. Glint can buy Rebellion Reward Cards. Which are currently only useful in Brawls or Modern format. I play WILD with my main account so really buying a bunch of Reward Cards would almost be pointless because I wouldn't be able to delegate them to my alt account without paying DEC to unlock them. So what do I spend my Glint on?

After a lot of thinking I said screw it (shocker I know lol)!

I spent 30,000 Glint on 2 Rare Gold Draws and got...

Drybone Megalodon costs 10,000 DEC to unbind and sells for $7, ouch!
Quilliun Legionary costs 10,000 DEC to unbind and sells for $13.50!!! awesome!

Then I spent 35,000 Glint on 1 Legendary Draw but I used a Alchemy potion for funsies...

And holy crap I got a Gold Foil Legendary baby!
He costs 10,000 DEC to unbind him and is selling for $10.19.. so he will stay soulbound for now lol

Now with around 4,000 Glint left I bought 1 Common Gold Draw and got..

She is a $2 card that requires $2 to unbind. So again she gets to stay bound for now!

All in all though I am happy with my Gold Foil pickups and I think I will just keep trying to accumulate Gold Foils. LONGGGGG term here... Rebellion will eventually make it's way over to WILD and when that happens down the road. I think I rather have a army of Rebellion Gold Foils then Regular versions. So YOLO!

Take Aways from this Season

This was my first forray into the WILD format and it was a great experience. However I have to mention that it also was the first free WILD season so the stats and earnings could be totally screwed up. This next season may see way less players in WILD which may mean more SPS rewards per battle. But also it could mean way less crappy players so I may win less. Only time will tell. I have to play another season in WILD to know for sure if it's right for me.

Also this was my first season using a bot to auto battle, so that was interesting as well. It was nice to not have to worry about it and know that I am earning Glint and I could login to my alt account and play in Modern without the pressure I put on myself to keep battling.

Will the $2 season WILD pass be worth it going forward? That will be the driving factor if I keep playing in WILD or not.

I started this season with 2,950.387 SPS staked in my account. (worth $32.20 but don't really care about $$ value)

When this season ended I had 3,121.577 SPS staked. So I increased by 171.19 SPS which was mostly from Brawls.

SPS is king here and I need to keep grinding to boost those numbers up. Having to rent SPS each season is not feasible long term on top of having to pay $2 each season for WILD Pass.
