Hola a todos! espero se encuentren muy bien querida comunidad Alien, espero que estén teniendo una linda noche. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un proceso creativo que ha significado mucho para mí en estos últimos días. Se trata de un paisaje veraniego visto a través de una ventana, una pieza que realicé en Krita mientras exploraba nuevas alternativas para continuar con mi arte digital. Este trabajo no solo es un ejercicio técnico, sino también un reflejo de mi proceso de adaptación ante los imprevistos. Últimamente he enfrentado un obstáculo que me ha afectado bastante, mi tablet ha dejado de encender. Quienes han seguido mi camino artístico saben lo importante que ha sido para mí, especialmente porque tenía adelantada otra representación de la colección de los sanadores masculinos, una pieza en el que he puesto mucho esfuerzo y cariño. Al ver que no podía continuar con esa ilustración, sentí una mezcla de frustración y tristeza. Tenía tantas ideas y estaba tan metida en el proceso que detenerme repentinamente me dejó un vacío difícil de explicar. Pero en lugar de quedarme paralizada por el desánimo, decidí verlo como una oportunidad para explorar nuevos programas y buscar alternativas que me permitan seguir creando. Así es como llegué a Krita, que había escuchado mencionar pero nunca había probado en profundidad. Como mi herramienta principal estaba fuera de juego, quise empezar desde lo más básico, dibujar con el ratón de la PC. Este paisaje lo hice precisamente con ese propósito, con la intención de conocer las herramientas que ofrece Krita y evaluar qué tan cómoda me siento trabajando en él. Debo admitir que fue un reto completamente distinto a mi flujo habitual, pero también fue interesante descubrir nuevas formas de abordar una ilustración. Antes de esto, había estado probando Procreate, un programa que me gustó bastante, pero que aún no terminé de explorar completamente porque solo funciona en iPad. También tengo en mente Clip Studio, que lo ubique pero es pago, éste en varias oportunidades me han recomendado por su compatibilidad con mi estilo de dibujo, junto con Adobe Photoshop, que aunque está más enfocado en edición, tiene funciones que muchos artistas aprovechan en sus ilustraciones. Además de probar programas, estoy evaluando opciones de tabletas gráficas digitalizadoras que me permitan recuperar la fluidez que solía tener. Estoy abierta a recomendaciones, así que si alguno de ustedes tiene experiencia con alguna en particular, me encantaría leer sus opiniones. Este paisaje representa más que un simple aprendizaje técnico, es un recordatorio de que, incluso en los momentos complicados, siempre hay formas de reinventarse y seguir adelante. Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well, my dear Alien community. I hope you're having a lovely evening. Today I want to share with you a creative process that has meant a lot to me these past few days. It's a summer landscape seen through a window, a piece I created in Krita while exploring new ways to continue my digital art. This work is not only a technical exercise but also a reflection of my process of adapting to the unexpected. Lately, I've faced an obstacle that has affected me greatly: my tablet has stopped turning on. Those who have followed my artistic journey know how important this has been to me, especially because I had another representation of the Male Healers collection already completed, a piece I've put a lot of effort and love into. When I realized I couldn't continue with that illustration, I felt a mixture of frustration and sadness. I had so many ideas and was so immersed in the process that stopping suddenly left me with a void that's hard to explain. But instead of being paralyzed by discouragement, I decided to see it as an opportunity to explore new programs and look for alternatives that would allow me to continue creating. That's how I came across Krita, which I'd heard about but had never tried in depth. Since my main tool was out of action, I wanted to start from the very basics: drawing with a PC mouse. I created this landscape precisely for that purpose, with the intention of getting to know the tools Krita offers and assessing how comfortable I feel working in it. I must admit it was a completely different challenge from my usual flow, but it was also interesting to discover new ways to approach an illustration. Before this, I'd been trying out Procreate, a program I quite liked, but which I haven't fully explored yet because my attention has been focused on Ibis Paint. I also have Clip Studio in mind, which I've found but is paid; it's been recommended to me several times for its compatibility with my drawing style, along with Adobe Photoshop, which, although more focused on editing, has features that many artists take advantage of in their illustrations. In addition to testing programs, I'm evaluating options for digitizing graphics tablets that will allow me to regain the fluidity I used to have. I'm open to recommendations, so if any of you have experience with a particular tablet, I'd love to hear your thoughts. This landscape represents more than just a technical learning curve; it's a reminder that, even in difficult times, there are always ways to reinvent ourselves and move forward. Etapas del Dibujo/Drawing Stages

Para esta pieza, quería capturar la sensación de verano visto a través de una ventana, creando una imagen que transmitiera calidez y tranquilidad. Pensé en una ventana de tres paneles, con el paisaje extendiéndose más allá del marco, como si la luz del sol invitara al espectador a salir y disfrutar del aire libre. Dado que estaba probando Krita por primera vez, comencé con trazos básicos para entender el manejo de sus herramientas. Como estaba usando el ratón, tuve que adaptarme a una forma de dibujo más pausada, asegurándome de no perder detalles en el proceso. La estructura de la ventana fue lo primero que definí, y luego empecé a esbozar la vegetación.

For this piece, I wanted to capture the feeling of summer as seen through a window, creating an image that conveyed warmth and tranquility. I thought of a three-paned window, with the landscape extending beyond the frame, as if the sunlight was inviting the viewer to step outside and enjoy the outdoors. Since I was trying Krita for the first time, I started with basic strokes to understand the handling of its tools. Since I was using the mouse, I had to adapt to a more leisurely way of drawing, making sure not to lose details in the process. The window structure was the first thing I defined, and then I started sketching the vegetation.

Para transmitir la sensación de verano, seleccioné tonos cálidos y naturales. Utilicé verdes intensos para la vegetación, combinados con flores naranjas y rosas claros que aportaran contraste. Aquí fue donde realmente empecé a explorar los pinceles de Krita. Probé diferentes opciones para texturizar las hojas y flores, asegurándome de que tuvieran un efecto natural. También agregué pequeños reflejos de luz en ciertas zonas para reforzar la sensación de un día soleado. Trabajé en las sombras de la ventana y en la profundidad de los elementos naturales, ajustando los valores para lograr un buen equilibrio entre luces y sombras. Quería que la luz pareciera filtrarse entre las hojas, generando un efecto envolvente. Asi que con paciencia estaba conociendo los diferentes pinceles que ofrece este programa y viendo sus texturas, aunque me pareció que no tiene tantos como el Ibis Paint X, pero se que aun me falta conocerlo mas.

To convey the feeling of summer, I selected warm and natural tones. I used deep greens for the vegetation, combined with orange and light pink flowers for contrast. This is where I really started to explore the Krita brushes. I tried different options for texturing the leaves and flowers, making sure they had a natural effect. I also added small light reflections in certain areas to reinforce the feeling of a sunny day. I worked on the shadows of the window and the depth of the natural elements, adjusting the values to achieve a good balance between light and shadow. I wanted the light to seem to filter through the leaves, generating an enveloping effect. So with patience I was getting to know the different brushes that this program offers and seeing its textures, although it seemed to me that it doesn't have as many as Ibis Paint X, but I know that I still need to get to know it more.

Después de revisar la composición, realicé algunos ajustes en los colores y el contraste para asegurarme de que la escena transmitiera la atmósfera que buscaba. Finalmente, agregué mi firma y fue esta otra forma de conocer mas de Krita. Este ejercicio ha sido un aprendizaje en muchos niveles. Si bien extraño la comodidad de trabajar en mi tablet y con el Ibis, también ha sido interesante enfrentarme a nuevas formas de ilustrar. Espero poder seguir explorando programas y encontrar el que mejor se adapte a mi flujo de trabajo. After reviewing the composition, I made some adjustments to the colors and contrast to make sure the scene conveyed the atmosphere I was looking for. Finally, I added my signature and this was another way to learn more about Krita. This exercise has been a learning experience on many levels. While I miss the comfort of working on my tablet and with Ibis, it has also been interesting to face new ways of illustrating. I look forward to continuing to explore programs and finding the one that best suits my workflow.
