Hola a toda la maravillosa comunidad de Holozing! Mis saludos a todos en esta noche, y hoy quiero comenzar este post con un agradecimiento sincero a todos los curadores y administradores que, con su dedicación y esfuerzo, mantienen vivo el espíritu de la comunidad artística. También quiero extender mi gratitud a @Acidyo y @Kstreet por su constante apoyo implacable. Es gracias a ustedes que muchos de nosotros seguimos explorando nuevas posibilidades creativas y creciendo en cada publicación, es lindo eso como siempre lo recuerdo. En estas ultimas semanas, me aventuré a trabajar en una pieza inspirada en la temática de las trenzas en los cabellos de los sanadores. En esta ocasión, decidí enfocarme en el sanador Healer Ocean, y esto ha sido una experiencia en la que me encontré con más confianza para emprender esta ilustración, ya que es un territorio que he explorado muy poco para el caso, ya que representar sanadores masculinos siempre ha sido una incertidumbre, y sumergirme completamente en esta pieza me permitió darle toda mi atención y cuidado para que su esencia se transmitiera con claridad. Espero que me acompañen en este nuevo camino dentro de la colección, en la que finalmente los sanadores masculinos comienzan a ocupar su espacio en mi portafolio.

Hello to all the wonderful Holozing community! My greetings to everyone tonight, and today I want to start this post with a heartfelt thank you to all the curators and administrators who, with their dedication and effort, keep the spirit of the art community alive. I also want to extend my gratitude to @Acidyo and @Kstreet for their constant unrelenting support. It's because of you that so many of us continue to explore new creative possibilities and grow with each release, it's nice that as I always remember. In these last few weeks, I ventured out to work on a piece inspired by the theme of braids in healers' hair. This time, I decided to focus on the Healer Ocean healer, and this has been an experience in which I found myself with more confidence to undertake this illustration, as it is a territory that I have explored very little for the case, since representing male healers has always been an uncertainty, and immersing myself completely in this piece allowed me to give it all my attention and care so that its essence was clearly transmitted. I hope you will join me on this new path within the collection, in which male healers finally begin to take their place in my portfolio.

Etapas del Dibujo/Drawing Stages

Para este dibujo, comencé con un boceto estructural donde definí la pose del sanador y la fluidez de su cabello trenzado. Era importante capturar su esencia tranquila y su conexión con la evocación de su energía sanadora de el agua, así que me aseguré de que su expresión reflejara serenidad, como si estuviera en armonía.

For this drawing, I started with a structural sketch where I defined the healer's pose and the fluidity of his braided hair. It was important to capture his calm essence and his connection to the evocation of his healing energy from the water, so I made sure his expression reflected serenity, as if he were in harmony.

Siempre me genera una mezcla de emoción y pánico trabajar los pliegues en la ropa porque quiero que tengan ese toque único y surrealista que le da profundidad a la imagen. La técnica que utilizo para los pliegues comienza con una base uniforme de color, sobre la cual voy agregando capas progresivas de sombras y luces. Para lograr una sensación de volumen convincente, me apoyo en modos de fusión y de un pincel suave que me ayudan a definir la caída de la tela, así que el esfuerzo contribuye a la sensación de movimiento del personaje.

I always feel a mixture of excitement and panic when working with folds in clothing because I want them to have that unique and surreal touch that gives depth to the image. The technique I use for the folds starts with a uniform base of color, over which I add progressive layers of shadows and highlights. To achieve a convincing sense of volume, I rely on blending modes and a soft brush to help define the drape of the fabric, so the effort contributes to the sense of movement of the character.

Para lograr este efecto, trabajé en cada mechón con diferentes capas asegurándome de que las luces y sombras aportaran realismo y movimiento. Los toques finales siempre son los que le dan vida definitiva a la ilustración, y por eso en la mano del sanador, añadí sutiles efectos de luz para representar la energía que canaliza. Las partículas de luz fueron añadidas con un pincel punto de brillo que me encanta, jugando con la opacidad para crear una sensación etérea, también aplique un poco de gausseano con zoom y por supuesto superposición, luz suave y capas de brillo. Finalmente, ajusté la iluminación general de la pieza para reforzar la armonía entre el personaje y su entorno, asegurándome de que los colores se complementaran entre sí.

To achieve this effect, I worked on each strand with different layers making sure that the highlights and shadows brought realism and movement. The finishing touches are always what bring the illustration to life, and so on the healer's hand, I added subtle light effects to represent the energy he channels. The light particles were added with a glow dot brush which I love, playing with opacity to create an ethereal feel, I also applied a bit of Gaussian with zoom and of course overlay, soft light and glow layers. Finally, I adjusted the overall lighting of the piece to reinforce the harmony between the character and his environment, making sure the colors complemented each other.

Trabajar en esta pieza fue un ejercicio mas de confianza para mi. Me permitió salir una vez mas de mi zona de confort y experimentar con elementos que siempre han representado un reto para mí, como la la representación de personajes masculinos en mi colección. Healer Ocean Male se convirtió en una oportunidad para mejorar y fortalecer mi estilo, y espero que ustedes disfruten esta ilustración. Working on this piece was another exercise in confidence for me. It allowed me to step out of my comfort zone once again and experiment with elements that have always been a challenge for me, such as the representation of male characters in my collection.
